Saint, are you from Columbus? Drove through today on the way to Tuscaloosa. Usually just take highway 78 in, but decided to try a different route.

No. I was stationed there for 4 years though.

I'm from Clinton which is between Jackson and Vicksburg on I-20.

ETA: JJ27 is probably driving through there right now.

Under Armour Atlanta: Camp Preview

quote:

The next stop in the Under Armour All-America high school camp circuit this year is Atlanta. It will take place Sunday at Roswell (Ga.) High School and feature many of the top prospects in the region.

The always-stacked event features another strong roster with prospects from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, Ohio and even Texas on the expected roster.

The highest-ranked among the expected is the top center in the country and 247Sports Composite five-star Clay Webb. The Oxford (Ala.) standout has been dominant on the camp scene over the last two offseasons as one of the top interior offensive line performers seemingly each and every time. Alabama, Auburn and Georgia are in the best shape for his services early on, though he has no public plans of making an early pledge.

Contrarily, a bevy of prospects having already made their verbal commitments are also expected to compete among the South's best. The Alabama commitment group includes Lagrange (Ga.) Troup County outside linebacker King Mwikuta, Daphne (Ala.) cornerback Christian Williams and 2020 Muscle Shoals (Ala.) linebacker Jackson Bratton, all four star prospects at this point. Auburn also has several on deck to participate, including the top in-state wide receiver in Hoover (Ala.) High's George Pickens, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson offensive lineman Jakai Clark and 2020 Troup County defensive end Andy Boykin. Riverdale (Ga.) tight end Jaelyn Lay, a Clemson commitment, Florida linebacker pledge Jammal Abrams of Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin and 2020 Lannet (Ala.) athlete Kristian Story, headed to Tennessee, are also expected. Story plays quarterback in high school but will work in the secondary on Sunday.

The defensive line group among uncommitted prospects may be the strongest among those expected. From Georgia alone, Justin Eboigbe, Derrick Mclendon, and Curtis Fann are all Composite blue-chip prospects with a large amount of scholarship offers. Eboigbe is a top 10 defensive end with Georgia and Alabama splitting the early 247Sports Crystal Ball selections. McClendon has been to Florida, Florida State and Auburn of late and Fann is trending towards the South Carolina Gamecocks at this time.

The secondary is similar in star power led by two of the most talked about prospects in the county of late. Grayson's Kenyatta Watson, set to commit between Texas and Notre Dame on May 1, has cornerback skills on a traditional safety frame. New Top247 Madison (Ala.) Bob Jones cornerback Jaydon Hill, who just hit the 30-offer mark, is slated to work as well. Texas A&M just joined an offer list currently headlined by South Carolina and Tennessee. Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer's Jalyn Phillips will be one of the highest-rated safety prospects in town along with his gaudy list of scholarship offers, stretching beyond 50 at this point. Franklin (Ga.) Heard County's Aaron Beasley along with Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett teammates DJ Turner and Warren Burrell each hold a bevy of SEC and ACC options.

Big, physical pass-catching athletes on the outside like Zion Puckett, Ramel Keyton, Jammie Robinson, along with Pickens, figure to spearhead the group. It's another SEC-laden position with the class of 2019, but a rock solid underclassmen crop should keep up in multiple classes.

Among the uncommitted in the class of 2020, a top five Peach State prospect headlines the in-state group in Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove defesive end Myles Murphy. Fellow trench prospects already with four stars by their name include Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern defensive tackle Jamil Burroughs and Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton offensive lineman Paul Tchio. One sophomore quarterback name to know is replacing arguably the most decorated prep signal-caller of all-time in Trevor Lawrence. Cartersville (Ga.) passer Tee Webb stands 6-foot-3 and holds four early offers, including Power 5 extensions from Louisville and Rutgers early on.

Even the class of 2021 will make a splash at the event, led by another quarterback in Buford (Ga.) High's Aaron Mclaughlin, already armed with more than 20 scholarship offers. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound pro-style passer says Auburn, South Carolina, Arkansas and Ole Miss are recruiting him the hardest early on.

Not worried in the slightest. He wants to wait till Decemeber.

Who I want to commit this weekend are Sopsher, Early and Darnell Wright. Then Kevin Harris on May 1st.

We can get Taulia and Light package in the summer and Tuitele to follow shortly afterward.

Geaux247's LSU spring game visitors article reported that Jerrion Ealy is visiting LSU instead of UA and that John Emery opted to visit Tenn instead of UA. A Miss St poster on the SECrb says MSU is also expecting a visit from Ealy.

SEC Country (TN) reported that John Emery is expected at UT this weekend. They also reported CJ Clark as an expected visitor too, but 247-UGA listed Clark as a visitor to UGA. 247-TN also reported Emery to visit UT.

BOL and SEC Country (UA) list Clay Webb as visiting Bama, but a few BOL posters say they've heard he's visiting UGA. The two G-Day visitors articles I found on 247-UGA did not mention him.

I asked BOL to confirm whether Ealy, Emery and Webb are coming to UA this weekend.

ETA: Clay Webb is visiting UGA's G-Day instead of A-Day, probably because of the Atlanta Under Armour All-America camp Sunday. He's visited UA the past 2 weekends and many other times.

ETA: "IMO UA is still fine with Webb. The UA staff was aware of the visit." -- Tim Watts (BOL)

No real connections but I have a co-worker that is a friend of the Webb family. Clay WILL BE UA BOUND.

I take his visit to UGA simply as enjoying the process and nothing more.

Damn that hurts

I really rate Ealy. I think it's insane Ealy and Kevin Harris are four stars.
