It's obviously not a race issue, but if the family feels compelled to go that route then Kirby is fricked.
All your recruiting momentum is gone.
Kirby fricked up anyway by thinking he could hold together two recruiting classes by featuring a player he never intended to start. This is something Butch Jones would have done.

Who is reporting it and at what point did this individual report Fields was transferring?
Face it, these "insiders" your fan base has so much faith in all said Fields was coming back until the story broke on USA Today.
You still feel good about their recruiting "locks?"
Most of them said Dean and Sanders were silent commits. Is that still true? They sure were wrong about Fields.
And as much as I respect DW, he had Fields staying too.

I was told on Friday that Fields was possibly going to transfer by the same guy I got that from. I'd say he was pretty accurate. It was a direct message to me. I called him full of shut and he told me that it was true that staff was trying to talk him into staying.

Fields is no more connected than other recruits. Tyson C. Already called him out on Twitter and deleted it. Recruits look at him as a quitter.
