I mean, if Plan B means we sign a class like we did this year (even if we only get Neal and 1 or 2 others), then it's still a pretty good plan B I guess.

The reality is Kirby, like every other coach, can only sign 25 guys--give or take--every year. There's so much talent out there, Saban will sign an elite class every year as well, even if he losses more head to head battles with Kirby than he wins. Both rosters will continue to be elite. From there, what matters is coaching on the field--and Saban runs laps around Kirby on gameday. I'll take our guy, and they can have theirs. Now let's close this class strong boys!

I think so, yea. It is a new reality to have a recruiting equal in our region. Urban was always out there, but we didn't cross paths a ton.

We forget how dominant Urban was on the recruiting trail. He whipped our tails in plenty of battles, even though we won our fair share. Saban just bested him on the field and ran him off.

They had a great plan coming in both times, but the adjustments Saban made during the game were the stuff legends are made of. And Kirby had no answer for those adjustments. None. That's the difference between the GOAT and a good coach still trying to figure some things out.

Urban was co-GOAT recruiter, both at Florida and Ohio State. We survived.
