The Crimson Tide hasn't lost to an SEC East team since South Carolina scored a 35-21 victory over Alabama on Oct. 9, 2010.

Alabama extended its streak by beating Vanderbilt 59-0 on Sept. 23, Tennessee 45-7 on Oct. 21 and Georgia 26-23 in overtime on Monday in the CFP championship game.

41 Yards were gained on a TD pass from QB Tua Tagovailoa to WR DeVonta Smith on the final play of the season. The TD came on Alabama's second snap of the first overtime period and lifted the Crimson Tide to a 26-23 victory over Georgia in the CFP championship game on Monday night.

It was the first time that Alabama had won on the last snap since Nov. 8, 2008, when the Tide beat LSU 27-21.

S Rashad Johnson intercepted a pass to end LSU's overtime possession, and QB John Parker Wilson ended the game with a 1-yard TD run after throwing a 24-yard pass to WR Julio Jones to start Alabama's overtime possession.

Monday night also was the first time that Alabama had gone from losing to winning on the final snap of a game since Oct. 14, 2006, when the Tide beat Ole Miss 26-23.

Like Georgia on Monday night, the Rebels kicked a field goal on their overtime possession.

Alabama ended the game on a 2-yard TD pass from Wilson to RB Le'Ron McClain.

The Crimson Tide's latest four-year total beat their previous four-year total for the record.

The Alabama teams from 2013 through 2016 won 51 games.

Alabama had 12 victories in 2014, 14 in 2015 and 2016 and 13 in 2017.

73 Consecutive victories have been recorded over unranked teams by Alabama -- the longest such streak in NCAA FBS history.

The Crimson Tide hasn't lost to an unranked team since falling to Auburn 17-10 on Nov. 24, 2007. Miami (Fla.) defeated 72 unranked opponents in a row between a 47-45 loss to Boston College on Nov. 23, 1984, and a 31-8 loss to UCLA on Sept. 2, 1995.

Florida defeated 72 unranked opponents in a row between a 34-7 loss to Washington in the Freedom Bowl on Dec. 30, 1989, and a 47-35 loss to Mississippi State on Sept. 30, 2000.

Alabama recorded its 73rd victory in a row over an unranked team by beating Mercer 56-0 on Nov. 18.

120 Years since the previous time a major-college football program posted at least 13 victories in three consecutive seasons.

Alabama achieved the feat with 14 victories apiece in 2015 and 2016 and 13 in 2017.

Before the Crimson Tide, the most recent team to do that was Penn, which won 14 games apiece in 1895 and 1896 and 15 in 1897.

Alabama became the second team in NCAA FBS history to win at least 11 games for seven consecutive seasons, equaling a feat achieved by Southern Cal from 2002 through 2008.

Alabama also became the second NCAA FBS program with at least 10 victories in at least 10 consecutive seasons.

Alabama most recently failed to win 10 games in a season in 2007, when the Crimson Tide went 7-6.

Florida State reached double digits in victories for 16 consecutive seasons from 1987 through 2002.

Alabama joined Boise State (2008 through 2011) and Ohio State (2012 through 2015) as NCAA FBS programs that won at least 12 games in four consecutive seasons.

Sooo...can Lupoi use his California connections to nab this guy in 2019?

'19 CA WR Darren Jones

Led the state in receiving and was top 5 in touchdowns...and did I mention he's almost 6-9?

Tosh' best connections are in Northern California. But this kid is a top 100 guy and hardly has any offers and he is 6-8. We should extend an official at least.

Just my opinion, but unless he moves to TE and gains about 100+ lbs over four years he's never seeing the field. Doesn't seem like the smartest take.
