Sounds like Walker is just looking for an excuse not to sign with Bama. Hope I am wrong but wouldn’t expect his commitment to stick

Day 2 Under Armour All-American Top Performers
quote:
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The second practice of Under Armour All-America week is in the books. The all-star game features over 90 of the top football prospects in the nation. 247Sports brings you the top performers from the second workout of the week.
ALPHA DOG
Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep five-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere roared back with a stellar performance Monday after solid showing during the first workout of the week. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Petit-Frere played much more aggression during the second practice and used his elite athleticism to stymie pass rushers. One of Petit-Frere’s highlight plays was when he slung Alabama defensive end signee Jordan Davis to the ground. The potential that Petit-Frere showed on Monday is why 247Sports ranks him as the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle.
NEXT FIVE ON OFFENSE
1. WR Justin Shorter: The Penn State signee was very much in discussion for ‘Alpha Dog’ honors after an impressive one-handed touchdown catch during red zone work and long catch where he went over top of the cornerback. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound speedster is a physically imposing receiver that certainly can bust the top off a defense, but Monday he did an excellent jump showing his quarterbacks a big target for intermediate completions.
2. OL Tommy Brown: The Alabama signee moved from tackle to guard on Monday, where he had significantly more success. The massive 6-foot-6, 315-pound rarely lost a rep during one-on-ones. Once Brown gets his hands on a defensive linemen, he’s typically able to control them. When on the outside at tackle, Brown sometimes struggles with speed rushes.
3. TE Brevin Jordan: The Miami signee had the play of the day, a one-handed snag up the seam for a touchdown. Jordan, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound prospect out of Las Vegas, Nev., is a reliable target that is athletic enough to create separation from linebackers and safeties in coverage.
4. RB Maurice Washington: The 6-foot, 175-pound Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian product was able to get free down the seam for a big gain as a receiver out of the backfield. Washington also exploded around the left end nice run as well.
5. QB Joey Gatewood: It was a wet and windy day, but the Auburn signee was able to throw the ball the best of all the quarterbacks on Monday. However, it was the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder’s running ability that really impressed. Gatewood got out in the open field a few times on designed runs where his speed allowed him to rip off big gains.
TOP FIVE ON DEFENSE
1. DE Eyabi Anoma: Once the scrimmage portion of the practice rolled around, the Alabama signee started to make his presence felt. The five-star recruit used his elite speed off the edge to consistently disrupt the offense. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Anoma is clearly the most athletic defensive lineman in the game.
2. CB Trey Dean: It was another strong performance for the Florida signee, who was able to come up with an interception. Through two days of practice, it’s clear Dean is not afraid to mix it up with receivers, which resulted in a fight on Monday. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect’s length certainly helps when in coverage.
3. CB Olaijah Griffin: The former UCLA commit certainly made a case for the top overall defensive back on Monday, nipping at Dean’s heals. The California native had his own interception as well as pass breakups on the day. Griffin’s quickness and aggressive play gives receivers fits trying to shake free.
4. S Quindarious Monday: The Auburn signee brings good size to the back end of the defense at 6-foot-3, 190-pounder, and it helped during the second practice. Monday recorded a pair of interceptions on the day. The Georgia native looks to be at his best when allow to read and react in the secondary.
5. DE Jayson Oweh: The Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy product took over a portion of the scrimmage on Monday. Oweh, a 6-foot-5, 235-pounder known for his pass rushing ability, did an excellent job stuffing run after run. New to football, Oweh is another with plenty of upside moving forward.
Other Notes…
— Two Florida State signees that had a strong day were cornerback Anthony Lytton and defensive tackle Robert Cooper. Lytton continues to stay attached to receivers to make plays, while Cooper is a short, squat, and disruptive force on the interior of the defensive line.
— Wide receiver Justyn Ross had a good showing during one-on-ones making tough, contested catches. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound is a big target for quarterbacks to throw to.
— Miami offensive guard signee Delone Scaife had a very good showing during one-on-ones winning several reps. The 6-foot-3, 320-pound prospect has the potential to play early with the Hurricanes.
— Clemson five-star defensive end signee KJ Henry was close to making our top perform after an impressive showing during one-on-ones. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Henry is another quick edge rusher that can cause havoc.

Since JJ is gone we need to keep Quay if possible

Doesn’t sound like quay wants to be here

Let's see what happens after the playoffs. Hopefully we send Saban in to talk to them.

Ford was either #2 or 3 on our board depending on who you listen to.
I'm not saying I agree with those that say he was above Asa Martin, and indications from us continuing to recruit Martin very hard even after committing to the Barn seem like that's bull, but there are some people who are generally very reliable (and have great staff sources) that insist that he was #2 behind only Zamir White. Not my opinion, so don't accuse me of sour grapes on Asa Martin. What I am deducing is likely the truth is that some on our staff liked Martin slightly more, and some liked Ford slightly more.
Regardless, Ford was held in high esteem by our staff, and was a guy we knew we could get whenever we wanted to tell him to commit, so we continued to recruit White and Martin. Ford was electric at our camp. This may sound like spin, but it's what I've heard from literally everyone that shares any info with me AND from the 247/Rivals/Scout guys, etc. Make no mistake about it. Our staff (which almost never misses on a RB evaluation) thinks VERY highly of Ford's abilities.

Sounds to me like Peterson and Walker want closer relationships with Saban, Bama's next DC and LB coach(es).

We are going to see what Pete Golding can get done in recruiting pretty quick

Recruits commit to a coach more than a school more than anyone likes to admit.
Telling when Quay is buying negative recruiting pitches about coaches and depth chart.
The latter is laughable considering how much turnover that group will see at the end of this season and the next.

True, but I'm just saying it's too soon to assume JJ and Peterson will go elsewhere just because Pruitt is leaving. There's time before NSD for Saban, Tosh and Golding to calm their concerns.
