So you tell me how you can be reading at a fifth grade level a year ago and now you're an early enrollee kid. Just not a graduate but you managed to do it early lol. I hope he gets in tho. If you can beat the system beat it.

It sucks but the insiders trying to save face with this academic shite are full of it.

To the victor go the spoils. UGA won the SEC and look to be on an upswing, playing pretty good this year. We haven't had a great year by recent standards, from the January loss to CLemson to the end of the regular season at Auburn. I'm sure Saban's age is being used against him. We've lost some good recruiting coaches the last couple of years. shite happens. We just need to take care of business to rectify some wrong. Can we do it?

And not just get in, but early enroll at a prestigious university like UGA. I know they wouldn't bend the academic admissions for a football player at such a distinguished institution.

I went to school in Kentucky and had to deal with both OSU and UGA fans when Bama was going through the dark years of Franny, Mike Price, and Shula....smh

I'm not saying he can be an early enrollee. I'm saying the people coming out now saying we told him to hold off when he's been a question mark all day, are trying to save face. It's pathetic. Furthermore, we recruited the hell out of him. I doubt we didn't know about his academics before we started recruiting him in the first place.

Hell Dabo convinced Jackson Carmon that Urban Meyer was At "the downswing of his career", I can't imagine what gets said about Saban.

I just get this feeling we're kind of at a crossroad. We need some good momentum going into next year.

I agree. We have downgraded as a recruiting staff at several spots.

Bo Davis >>> Dunbar
Kiffin >>> Daboll

Smart was a very good recruiter obviously. I think Cristobal is better than Key in that area. Plus losing Pruitt has hurt in the short term. And probably will hurt in the long term unless we get some dang recruiters here.

Ansley and Tosh are the only really good recruiters we have left in my opinion. I guess Burns to some degree with his Louisiana connections.

Just because we recruited him hard, doesn't mean we wouldn't tell him to hold off until February to sign. By February, you have a better picture of a recruit's academic standing.

Also, the NCAA passed a rule that said that we can no longer back count an academic casualty's spot, making it all the more important that the recruit qualifies because now you lose that spot altogether.

Would be great, but if we just play well, have a good spring, get everybody on the same page rather than at odds.

edit: That is, with our bad injury luck this year, it may not be our year, but we can still create some good mojo even if we don't win it all.

I think Sabah went out and got guys who could coach players up rather than recruit. I mean we will know if it works out and a couple of weeks.

Yep. But the bottom line is that there's not really much point in fretting over Joseph signing with UGA. It's done. Hopefully, we'll land someone as good or better. Besides, it's only Dec 20th and we've already signed 3 damn good CBs.

For those who doubt the narrative that Alabama wouldn't let Joseph sign early, Watts pretty much said as much. It's in the Vernon Jackson/Nadab Joseph thread on BOL.

ETA and again on the Josh Jobe flipped thread. He reiterated my earlier post of the staff not being willing to take a chance and UGA's staff being willing to do so. That's not a knock on UGA per se, as we are doing the same with Barmore. It's just that we don't have many other options at dline whereas we have some at DB.

From lilslym:

He's one of the few "insiders" I pay attention to nowadays even though I was skeptical of him for years.

Some are mentioning we might get involved with UTx commit 4* DT Keondre Coburn, as he didn't sign today.
