So Sumlin is gone, Mac gone and now Butch. Jimbo may leave FSU as well. I hop we can snag an elite DT with all this uncertainty going on around us

Hey Saint, do you have a black Volvo? First 2 digits in your house number17? Was on way home from Meridian today and stopped by to see my sister that lives not far from silver Hills and thought I would see where you gonna start parking yourself.

Looking at post history I see a pattern here.

TS’s dedication to this board has made him a celebrity. He’s had to abandon his right to privacy.

You dumb asses, he's already told where he's moving to and what community. Go ahead and have your fun.

Y'all chill.
It's cool. Yes, one of my vehicles is a Volvo and yes my new home is in Silver Hills.

Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Roll Tide-ings, a rundown of everything happening in Alabama Crimson Tide recruiting with Chris Kirschner. Today, we talk the latest with some of Alabama’s top targets in the 2018 class.

The latest on some of Alabama’s top targets
We’ll start with Tennessee. It was only a matter of time before Butch Jones, the champion of life himself, was no longer coaching the Volunteers after his team got embarrassed by Missouri on Saturday. The Vols went ahead and fired Jones on Sunday.
How does that affect Alabama recruiting? Not all that much.
Alontae Taylor, a 4-star athlete from Coffee County Central High School (Manchester, Tenn.), de-committed from Tennessee on Sunday. Taylor was offered by Alabama as an athlete earlier this month.
“We like him,” a source close to the Alabama program told SEC Country. “We’re still trying to figure out what position he’d play for us.”
Taylor, who’s rated as the nation’s No. 29 wide receiver, would likely be a defensive back if he chose the Tide. But Alabama is squarely in the race for several top corners. Taylor seems like he’d be a wait-and-see option.
Greg Emerson, a 4-star defensive tackle who remains committed to Alabama, received some interest from Alabama earlier this year. While the Tide remain in the hunt for several defensive tackles, don’t expect the team to strongly pursue Emerson.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen there,” the source said. “He broke his leg [in the summer], so we don’t have recent film to evaluate. We don’t really know where he’s at. It’s hard to tell.”
Jaycee Horn, a 4-star Tennessee cornerback commit, tried to commit to Alabama before choosing the Volunteers, but the team will need to miss on several corners before circling back to Horn.
While the team would welcome 5-star offensive tackle Cade Mays, who de-committed from the Vols last week, he doesn’t seem like a viable option. His father was an All-American at Tennessee. A return to the Vols’ class, depending on who the university hires as its next coach, isn’t a far-fetched possibility.

Ohio State offers another QB
Ohio State has now offered two Class of 2018 quarterbacks in the past few weeks. The Buckeyes offered Colorado State quarterback commit Matt Baldwin on Sunday night. Baldwin took an official visit to OSU this past weekend for the Buckeyes’ game against Michigan State.
Baldwin now joins 4-star prospect Jarren Williams, who de-committed from Kentucky on Sunday after taking an official visit to Miami this past weekend, as the two quarterbacks who have been offered. Do not be surprised to see Ohio State offer Tennessee quarterback commit Adrian Martinez, who visited Columbus for the Michigan State game.
What does this all mean? Well, if you’re a loyal SEC Country Alabama reader, you know this all relates to Ohio State quarterback commit Emory Jones, who is the Tide’s top quarterback option in the 2018 class.
Jones actually visited Auburn this past weekend for the Tigers’ game against Georgia. I don’t think Auburn is much of a threat to steal him from Ohio State. If anything, him visiting a school that likely doesn’t have a chance to get his commitment almost assuredly annoyed the Ohio State staff when he told him his plans.
So, how does Alabama feel about flipping Jones away from Ohio State?
“I still think there’s a good chance,” a source close to Alabama said. “It’s about his comfortability with the staff at Ohio State [for why he hasn’t flipped yet]. He’s been committed there for so long, and it’s really hard to pull that trigger and then call that program and tell them you’re not going there anymore.”
Jones led Heard County to a first-round playoff win this past Friday, so don’t expect a decision on his recruitment to be made in the next week. But, with Ohio State kicking the tires on more quarterbacks, I think it’s safe to say that the Buckeyes are working to get ahead of a possible loss on the recruiting trail.

Miami’s big win
The Miami Hurricanes will likely see themselves in the top 4 of the College Football Playoff rankings this coming Tuesday after a big win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The “U” is back, and that win has already helped the Hurricanes in recruiting. As mentioned above, Williams, who attended Miami’s game, de-committed from Kentucky and looks to be the Canes to lose at this point; however, the Army All-American will take an official visit to Ohio State this coming weekend. Miami also received a commitment from the nation’s top fullback in Realus George on Sunday.
Alabama is fighting with Miami for two major targets in the 2018 class at arguably the Tide’s biggest position of need: Tyson Campbell, a 5-star cornerback from American Heritage High School (Plantation, Fla.), and Josh Jobe, a 4-star cornerback from Cheshire (Conn.) Academy who’s committed to the Hurricanes.
I think Alabama gets one of the two. In my most recent mock signing class, I had the Tide signing Campbell. I am changing that prediction in my updated version this week.
According to the source close to Alabama, it’s Jobe that the team is confident in landing.
“I think he’s pretty serious about his interest in Alabama,” the source said on Jobe.
As far as Campbell, who visited Miami for the Notre Dame game?
“I don’t know where that dude is going,” he said. “I think he’s going to go to Georgia.”
Patrick Surtain Sr., the father of the nation’s No. 1 cornerback, Patrick Surtain Jr., also was in attendance at Hard Rock Stadium. It’s still believed to be all LSU for Surtain.

So looking like AU is gonna land Christian Tutt Tuesday. I know he was a guy that was on & off board for Bama over the summer. Curious if the reason Bama passed was off field issues, academic or just better options? I am hoping you say better options

He was never High on the board, he was supposed to commit months ago, which would have been to Bama but he was never a take

Good to hear it's a better option thing & not off field issue. I have no problem admitting Bama's CB talent pool to pick from is much deeper than AU's
