It would be great if the switch would flip for Nigel Knott. I really expected him to be a terror returning punts or kick offs by now.

Nigel Knott is such a bummer. I hope he comes around. They described him as a athletic freak but I haven't heard anything about him except he's soft lol

That's all I've heard too. I really expected him to be a nightmare on special teams. Maybe next year things will click.

In high school, he was electric

Sure, we lose battles every year. But seriously, when's the last time Saban lost a highly coveted 4-5 star in-state DT to Auburn? Or an in-state RB that we pushed hard for? AU has basically gotten our in-state crumbs the last decade, so it's not a great sign to see us strike out on two stud AL kids to freakin' goofy Gus early in the cycle. Again, not doom and gloom. Just facts and it's ok for us to discuss those things without the sunshine crowd losing their minds.

Two things on Knott. Firstly, he came in weighing like 160. Seriously. Physically he was nowhere close to ready for SEC play. And then he tore his knee up. As he continues to gain confidence in the knee and adds about 20 lbs of muscle over the next year or two, I think he'll come around. One of our insiders compared him to Averrett who came in way too skinny and didn't start until he was a 4th year junior. And he's been a lock-down guy since.

Lost Marlon Davidson to the Barn a few years ago, though his brother being on their staff was the main reason.

Lost out on Johnson too a few years back. Don't know how hard Bama pushed for him though.

Legacies and family members on staff don't really count. We didn't even recruit Davidson hard because we knew there was no point. His brother probably would have been fired had he come to Bama...just wasn't happening.

Not sure who Johnson is, as it's such a common name. But gonna guess he wasn't a guy we pushed hard for. Regardless, the bottom line is Saban has cherry-picked the state of AL the last decade with very few exceptions. Then all of the sudden it looks like arguably the 3 top players in the state are all going somewhere else one year...it's an undeniable change in pattern. Again, hopefully we can flip Martin and maybe even Miller and this will all be moot.

Well since you are going by star rating. Those two kids are "crumbs" based off of what we usually get and not to mention they are still getting recruited by us and seem to be receptive.

Not sure what you're talking about. Martin and Miller are both 4-star guys with elite offer lists. They aren't close to crumbs. And as of now, we lost both battles to goofy Gus. Again, hopefully we can flip one or both.

Based off of last years class and previous years they would be in the bottom half of the class and if they went somewhere else nobody would even say one word because they would be replaced....speaking of that does anyone know where Gary Johnson ended up?

Some truth to that, but this year's recruiting cycle nationally is down overall compared to the last few years and even the 2019 class. Makes it that much more important to snag decent guys in a class that doesn't have a ton of elite players.

I'm still confused as to how or why Miller would go to AU. Must've got that weewee wet or something down there.

From what I've read here and on some other boards, Martin has been in T'town several consecutive weekends. That leads me to believe that he is quite receptive to the staff and is a potential flip. Also. Miller doesn't look like a done deal from the looks of his Dad at the announcement. 3 months is still a good ways off.

Asa going to Bama because AU has had back to back away games, with another this week. Don’t think he flips unless coaching changes.

Gary Johnson backs up Malik Jefferson at Texas.

Once it was known he couldn't even transfer to the SEC, there was no use keeping him...
