If any of you need laughs , go look at Lsu recruiting board about us interviewing Surtain Sr. He turned it down bc he knows son is going to LSU and would be hard to pull for Bama, Saban will do anything bc Lsu is only threat to Bama , only team that scares Bama, etc, etc. Goid reads especially if you have had a few drinks. Craziest fan base in the world. Thought some if us were bad. Lol. Geez

*Prominent HS Coach in Florida
*Former star CB in the NFL
Not like those aren't appealing factors alone. Plus he interviewed, Bama didn't force him to. He was interested in the job...

I'm hearing there's still a good chance we won't take a QB, and that the decision on Purdy will probably come down to what they hear about Jalen's plans. In another BIG numbers crunch (as we so frequently are this time of the year). From all mods, the weekend sounds like it was a MASSIVE home run on pretty much all fronts, but most of these kids still have to make other visits, so let's not go all-in on the "we're.going to get everyone" yet.

Good, no QB needed in this class.

Per Andrew Bone:
Justyn Ross and his family having a fantastic time. A few have said they have never seen him engage with coaches or players like this in the past. Loving every bit of the visit.
Patrick Surtain and Tyson Campbell also having a ball this weekend. Both of their families have loved it. Who knows what may happen, but Bama has made up a lot of ground with Campbell. Bama may lead for Surtain.
Nick Petit-Frere and his mom have been having a blast throughout the weekend. Alabama has a very strong feeling about him joining this class.
Quay Walker and JJ Peterson have been wearing Bama gear throughout the weekend. Both having a great time.
Alabama rolled out red, championship carpet for these guys this weekend. There is a reason Alabama is considered one of the best if not the best in the country when it comes to recruiting the top players in the country. This weekend was incredible A lot of movement with top guys.

We won't get all those guys but we could get most of them and that's fine by me

Bone knows how to say a lot without saying anything.

If he actually knew anything he would "accidentally" leak it.

Certainly nothing set in stone. No decision has apparently been made one way or the other. Just saying that there's a very real chance that we don't take a QB.

I would hate to be in Saban shoes bc he is gonna have to make a tough decision ( not really) come spring time regarding qbs. Who knows, Jones may leave as well. I wished we would take a qb and Barker as a walk on
Posted on 1/21/18 at 7:55 pm to Bama3714
Yeah, I understand and had already sensed that's the situation. Likely we take Braxton Barker as a walk-on?

No idea about Barker other than what's posted here.
Posted on 1/21/18 at 8:03 pm to TidalSurge1
Read on Twitter he is mulling over what to do. He has some middling offers and preferred walk-on invite to Bama
Posted on 1/21/18 at 8:08 pm to TidalSurge1
Barker has full ride scholarship offers, but I don't think his family really needs the help
I don't know if he would be willing to take his preferred walk on offer though.

It's an accomplishment thing sometimes, for whatever reason a full ride from the Banana Slugs means more to some than a walk on spot to a bigger school.
It's definitely financial for a lot of folks, but I don't think the Barkers would have a problem putting him through school. Hell I'm sure Bama would make it as easy as possible...

He did mention he wanted an opportunity to play and not just “be on the team”. No idea which way he is leaning
