Nice! I hope I get a chance to watch Bama play in a championship game one day. I've been to lots of games in Tuscaloosa and to the Sugar Bowl but I've never been to a championship game.

Does anyone know who Najee is rooming with. They conspired to keep Tua and Najee off the same team. Wondering if they roomed him with the Michigan QB commit.

Im not worried about a Mich Qb trying to flip him.If he chooses Mich it will be because of Harbaugh.
The guy I am worried about is Solomon around all those UGA boys on the same defense.
He is the most important recruit still left on the board.
That's assuming Allen, Judey and Moses all stick and report along with judey
and Moses both reporting by Saturday as EE.

Alabama early enrollee Kyriq McDonald can do it all
Chad Simmons
Kyric McDonald is one of many early enrollees in the South and he is starting his Alabama career this month. What is the Crimson Tide getting? His coach call McDonald an "unbelievable" talent...
Kyriq McDonald has moved on from Madison (Ala.) James Clemens and he worked hard the last three and a half years so he could move to Tuscaloosa (Ala.) this month.
The 5-foot-10, 190 pound defensive back could play cornerback, nickel or safety on the next level. His high school coach, Wade Waldrop had some very good things to say about the Alabama freshman.
"Explosive player," Waldrop said when asked what Alabama was getting in McDonald. "McDonald is very athletic, very talented and an intelligent football player.
"He does a lot for us in regards to checks, adjustments and alignments.
"He is an explosive player and he could be an offensive player. He is very, very dynamic and unbelievably gifted.
"He is 5-10, but he has arms of someone that is 6-1 and that makes up for his lack of height. He is very fast and very strong.
"He can play cover two, he can play press man, off man, read, match or whatever. He is very intelligent.
"He plays down-safety for us, so I could see him falling into that nickel spot [at Alabama] and fitting down in the line of scrimmage. He is very dynamic."

35 of the 44 starters in Alabama-Clemson title game were at least 4-star recruits -

Unbelievably people are still rating Dalvin Tomlinson as a 4th or 5th round draft pick. He has been better this year than either Reed or Robinson were last year, better stats already and still has a game to play. If not for the fact that he shares the field with Allen, Williams, and Anderson, he would have about 8-10 sacks to go along with everything else. 58 tackles, 4.5 tfl, 3 sacks, 4 passes batted, 7 QB hurries,1 forced fumbles. He's as much an athletic freak at his size (310) as Allen, he's got extremely advanced technique, quickness and brute strength, violent hands, great at getting off blocks, high IQ, no character issues. Luckily he's going to get to play in the senior bowl, should show out there. And he will test well at the combine. If he falls past the 3rd round someone is getting a steal.

When he named us his clear leader, my first thought was Rudolph that went to FSU. Hope I/we are wrong.

One of my sons is on the FB coaching staff at James Clemons. He told me those same things about Kyriq McDonald, under rated, great DB, very smart, can do it all, the real deal, etc.

Tua Tagovailoa breaks down Alabama WR targets
quote:
A stellar group of receivers should be joining Tua Tagovailoa as the five-star quarterback recruit begins his college career at Alabama next week.
Tagovailoa will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday in San Antonio, Texas. The game kicks off at noon on NBC.
Tagovailoa has thrown to Alabama's two receiver commitments, Tyrell Shavers of Lewisville, Texas and Jerry Jeudy of Deerfield Beach, Fla., along with targets Henry Ruggs III of Lee-Montgomery and Devonta Smith of Amite, La...

Tomlinson more than likely has a lower grade than he should because of 2 knees injuries and size factor. While he's solid size, he isnt ideal size and weight for a 3-4 DT in the NFL and would be graded to a 4-3 DT which does not get ran as much in the NFL now days.

4-3 is making a renaissance as of late. Linebackers are being somewhat phased out. It's all about qb pressure with linemen and coverage in the secondary.

Are we getting Ray?
I asked my son on 12/25 via text. His reply:

He says he doesn't know yet. I have coached the kid for 4 years and he will only give me his top 3, which is Bama, Tenn, Fla.
Bama leads, but Ray is very tight lipped, and just says he hasn't made a final decision. If he has, he's not even telling his coaches. That said, I'll be VERY surprised if he doesn't come to Bama.

His draft grades have nothing to do with talent. He blew out both of his knees and that's what will cause him to fall, fair or not. But I agree that whoever drafts him will be getting a steal.

Alabama holds the nation’s No. 1 class, and it doesn’t look like the Crimson Tide is going to lose the top spot.
Even if 5-star running back Najee Harris flips his commitment to Michigan, Alabama has so many other highly rated recruits that it shouldn’t affect its overall ranking.
With that being said, here’s a peek at Alabama’s 2017 class snapshot:
Alabama 2017 class snapshot
Alabama has a good chance to have the nation’s No. 1 class for the seventh straight year. As it stands, this might be Alabama’s best class in the Nick Saban era because it has commitments from a top-class running back, two future play-making quarterbacks, a bookend left tackle and more.
Where it ranks?
Alabama’s 2017 class is ranked No. 1 in the country. It passed Ohio State for the top spot once Jedrick Wills committed. The Tide have held the top spot since that moment and they should hold on to the No. 1 spot through National Signing Day.
As is standard in the Saban era, the majority of Alabama’s commitments are of the blue-chip variety, meaning they are either rated 4- or 5-star prospects. For context purposes, the Tide have 26 pledges, including four 5-star recruits (RB Najee Harris, OT Alex Leatherwood, LB Dylan Moses and WR Jerry Jeudy), 18 4-star prospects, four 3-star talents and one 2-star prospect in long snapper Thomas Fletcher.
Who are Alabama’s top 2017 commitments?
5-star RB Najee Harris
5-star OT Alex Leatherwood
5-star WR Jerry Jeudy
5-star LB Dylan Moses
4-star QB Tua Tagovailoa
Who committed to Alabama this week?
Xavier McKinney, a 4-star safety from Roswell (Ga.) High School, surprisingly committed to Alabama once again. McKinney announced his decision on ESPN at the Under Armour All-America Game. Clemson was thought to be the favorite to land his commitment, but Alabama won out in the end.
“I feel like they can get me where I need to be as a player and as a person also,” McKinney said. “I fell in love with the staff and the atmosphere when I’ve gone there. Those were the main reasons why I committed.”
Who de-committed from Alabama this week?
Alabama hasn’t had a de-commitment since late October when 4-star linebacker Gary Johnson backed off his commitment. He took a class in junior college that would not have been accepted by SEC schools. He could have chosen to retake the class and remained in Alabama’s class, but it would have delayed his enrollment into a four-year university. Jhavonte Dean, a 3-star junior college cornerback, is someone Alabama fans should keep an eye on as far as who could be the next de-commitment.
Who are Alabama’s top remaining targets?
5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon
4-star defensive end LaBryan Ray
4-star defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw
4-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis
4-star wide receiver Henry Ruggs III
4-star wide receiver DeVonta Smith
4-star JACK Jarez Parks

This whole "Najee Harris packing" deal got me thinking.
Almost every time I've seen one of our players outside of the game or practice they have been wearing some sort of Alabama gear.
I'm assuming they don't have to pay for those shirts, pullovers, sweats, shorts, etc.
Do they get as much of that stuff as they want for free or is there a limit? Like a stipend for clothing?
