Devon Hunter is coming in on an unofficial visit as well. His dad says he will be back for an official visit later, but he announced yesterday he will be committing on Christmas Eve.

I wish we could snag him.

When asked who we sign at the RB and OL positions he said we hold on to all of our current commits and add Isaiah Wilson.

He thinks the class size will be 29-30.

Clarification on Isaiah Wilson:

He has him CB'd to Alabama right now, but that may or may not change after his OV this weekend.

Very good odds on Jarez Parks and Baron Browning.

If forced to choose between who he thinks we sign out of Javon Kinlaw and Isaiah Buggs, it's Kinlaw.

Hank feels Alabama has a good shot at Deangelo Gibbs, but not confident enough to put in a CB.

It looks like Chris Allen may be the odd man out at the LB position unless the staff has room for him, Jarez Parks and Baron Browning.

Hank on Jhavonte Dean:

quote:

Dean has asked for no more interviews, which could be a sign of wavering, we'll find out. Depending on who Bama is able to get in its secondary class might affect Dean's standing.

He gone.

If Jimbo leaves FSU, any chance we could flip Wade AND Samuels? Also, isn't Parks being looked at as a DE? With how thin we're going to be on the DL next season, it's not unrealistic that he could be at 275 by the FSU game.

He said he feels really good about Wade, but it would take one hell of a flip job to land Samuels. He's a legacy so it may not matter who their coach is to him.

Roll Tide-ings: Should Alabama worry about another LSU trip for 5-star LB Dylan Moses?

Moses back on LSU’s campus

With IMG Academy’s football season coming to an end this past weekend, 5-star linebacker Dylan Moses traveled back home to Baton Rouge, where he took in an LSU practice on Tuesday. This is now the second time he’s been on LSU’s campus since his commitment to Alabama when he said he would no longer take visits to schools not located in Tuscaloosa.

While it’s always concerning to see a top commit on a campus that’s not yours, I don’t think there’s too much to worry about at this time. His family lives in Baton Rouge, and he’s home for the holidays. The Moseses remain close to the LSU program despite his commitment to Alabama.

There are obvious issues, though, with the Tigers’ wishes of flipping the nation’s No. 1 outside linebacker. After losing to Florida this past weekend, Ed Orgeron’s opportunity to become LSU’s permanent head coach took a big hit. There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding LSU right now. That was one of the big reasons why he didn’t include the Tigers in his top schools list last December when the Les Miles firing talk heated up and why he ultimately ended up at Alabama.

Moses also is one of the most vocal Alabama commits on Twitter. It’s almost a daily occurrence to see Moses tweeting something about playing for Alabama next season. He’s expected to be in Tuscaloosa this weekend for the Iron Bowl.

I expect Moses to stick with his commitment as of today.

What if Moses does flip?

Alabama has improved its chances with 5-star linebacker Baron Browning, who will announce his commitment on Nov. 29, which is his father’s birthday. Sources have told SEC Country that he’ll either choose Ohio State or Alabama.

He is taking an official visit to Columbus this weekend.

Smith also back at LSU

Another one of Alabama’s top targets was at LSU on Tuesday, 4-star wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

Smith has visited Tuscaloosa countless times over the past several months, and that is with him living 300 miles away from Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama has been considered the favorite to land his commitment ever since he de-committed from Georgia in January. I still believe he’s one of the biggest locks for Alabama.

That’s not to say he hasn’t given LSU a stronger look as of late. He’s been to campus several times this fall, and this is after he told SEC Country this summer that he wasn’t a fan of LSU’s offense and that he wanted to leave the state for school.

“I just really want to get away from home,” Smith told SEC Country back in July. “I don’t really like being in Louisiana that much. I want to get away from home so I can explore other things.”

It would be a major surprise if he didn’t end up in Alabama’s class some signing day.
