Prospect of the Week
Aaron Sterling
Tucker HSTucker, GA
6'2" / 260 lbs
What a performance it was Friday night for the one-time Alabama commit Aaron Sterling. Him and his teammates at Tucker (Ga.) held Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison to -22 yards on 14 plays in the second half Friday night in round two of the playoffs. Tucker won 23-7. Sterling finished with six and half sacks, two tackles for loss and a batted down pass. That is not only one of the top defensive performances of the weekend, but of the year. The South's No. 13 defensive end decommitted from Alabama back in September after pledging to the Crimson Tide Christmas day 2015. There are plenty of schools in the mix for Sterling right now, but Georgia, NC State and South Carolina are three definitely being considered. He does not appear to be close to a decision.
Holy shite.

Prospect on the Rise
Tadarian Moultry
Jackson-Olin HSBirmingham, AL

Tadarian Moultry is a prospect who really has started to come into his own. He is a prospect who missed time early in his high school career for different reasons, but played a lot of safety as a junior, then shined at linebacker this fall. He is someone who loves contact, he delivers pop when he hits, and he plays at one speed — fast. He can be used in blitz packages, he is a strong tackler in one-on-one situations and the current No. 264 prospect in the country is going to make a big jump in the rankings soon. He could end up being a top 100 prospect in the country, so him moving up over 150 spots is not out of the question. With his size, strength and ability at linebacker, he could be an outside or inside linebacker on the next level. Moultry is a strong Auburn commitment, and he is set to take his official visit December 9.

Visit of the Week
Cam Akers
Clinton HSClinton, MS
5'11" / 212 lbs / 4.44sVerified
This weekend has been circled for a while there will be many of the best in the country on the road taking important official visits. One that is huge for both parties is five-star running back Cam Akers heading to Mississippi. The Rebels may not sign a running back in this class unless his last name is Akers. The star out of Clinton (Miss.) loves his home state, he has visited Oxford (Miss.) more than anywhere else since his recruitment started and this will be his chance to ask questions and the Rebels' chance to give him answers. Akers does not reveal too much to the public, but the schools other than Mississippi that remain in contention for the early enrollee are Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Tennessee. Akers recently cancelled his official visit to Michigan and the Wolverines are out of it. Akers could decide in December in his hometown or January 7 at the Army All-American game.

Commitment Watch
Trey Smith
University School Of JacksonJackson, TN
6'6" / 300 lbs
The watch is on for five-star Trey Smith. The No. 4 offensive tackle in the country out of Jackson (Tenn.) University of Jackson School will commit on December 6. All eyes have been on Smith because all have to speculate about where he is visiting, who he is in communication with and what is next for him because he does not communicate with the media. The five star has taken official visits to Alabama and Mississippi. He cancelled his official visit with Notre Dame this past weekend. The Irish appear to be out of the race. Ohio State could be next — he has his official visit with the Buckeyes scheduled for this weekend. Clemson and Tennessee are the other two schools in Smith's final six that could receive visits. The in-state Vols remain the favorite here, but the race could be a little tighter than some thought a couple of months ago. It still looks like Tennessee will be tough to beat at this stage with just two weeks to go before the early enrollee makes his decision.

LSixU just had a WR flip to Texas A&M.
Now they are confident in signing Devonta Smith.

Devonta Smith and Dylan Moses visited LSU today FWIW.

if both were to flip, they are at positions that we are currently OK at, and have more at those positions that want to commit. We would be just fine........
That being said, I still want both of these to be in this class.

LSU hosts two five-stars
With school out for Thanksgiving break, LSU had two big visitors on campus Tuesday.
The Tigers hosted five-star wide receiver Devonta Smith and five-star linebacker Dylan Moses, multiple sources confirmed with the Geaux247 staff.
Moses remains committed to Alabama, but this is his second unofficial visit to LSU’s campus since making his pledge to the Tide. Moses is an early-enrollee, which means his final decision will have to come over the next month. The uncertainty around LSU’s head coaching situation remains a question mark with their chances of reeling Moses in, but Ed Orgeron and Co. are evidently keeping their foot on the gas moving in to the final game of the regular season.
Smith, who has long been considered an Alabama lean, appears to be giving the Tigers a stronger look. LSU wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Dameyune Craig has spearheaded LSU’s efforts with Smith, who could fill the open wide receiver spot the Tigers have in the class with the decommitment of Stephen Guidry. LSU has commitments from two wide receivers in Jhamon Ausbon and Mannie Netherly.
LSU’s staff plans to hit the road for in-home visits after the weekend, and both Moses and Smith are certainly set to receive visits before the dead period sets in.
Stay tuned to Geaux247 for more on both of their visits.

You know what's weird? Us not having many battles with the barn in recruiting his year. Who are we truly battling for? I don't consider Ryan Johnson commitable.

We really haven't battled a lot with them since Chizik.

They might. It's a different sell to him now (we need you badly, you're at top of our board) than it was previously (come play for in state school, yaw-yaw-yaw).

I really want to go back and bump some of their posts about Netherly and Ausbon being better than Smith, but I don't have the time.

Four-star cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart (San Diego, Calif./St. Augustine) said Alabama still leads. The nation’s No. 8 cornerback in the 2018 class gives the Crimson Tide the edge over USC and UCLA among his 21 verbal offers.
Taylor-Stuart (6-2, 185 with 4.3 speed) said he also has high interest in Washington and Arizona. He said he’s hoping for offers from Clemson, Florida and Ohio State.
Taylor-Stuart hopes to make his college choice next summer. The lone pick on the Crystal Ball reads for Alabama.
