Player name: Brian Robinson, 4-star RB, Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Team to worry about the most: Georgia

Why: This is contingent on Georgia missing out on its top running back targets Toneil Carter, D’Andre Swift and Cam Akers. Robinson has visited Georgia in the past but is not a priority to the Bulldogs with those names ahead of him on their board. He is a huge Alabama fan. He is not going anywhere in this class.

Player name: Gary Johnson, 4-star LB, Dodge City, Kan.

Team to worry about the most: Ohio State

Why: Johnson has said Alabama is his dream school, so it’s going to take a lot for another school to flip him. He has previously said the Buckeyes were one of the teams that is recruiting him the hardest. If any school would have a chance, it would be Ohio State.

Player name: Mac Jones, 4-star QB, Jacksonville, Fla.

Team to worry about the most: None

Why: Since committing three weeks ago, Jones has become one of the team’s best recruiters. He will not take any other visits to other schools and his recruitment is over. He is now focused on getting offensive weapons around him.

Player name: Aaron Sterling, 3-star DE, Stone Mountian, Ga.

Team to worry about the most: Georgia and Tennessee

Why: If there was one recruit who I think is most likely not to end up in Alabama’s class, it’s Sterling. Alabama is after plenty of defensive line targets, and Sterling has continued to take visits elsewhere. Georgia and Tennessee look to be possible destinations for Sterling, who has visited both schools multiple times.

Player name: Brandon Ruiz, 3-star K, Gilbert, Ariz.

Team to worry about the most: None

Why: Ruiz was extended an offer a week after Alabama’s special teams camp earlier this month and pounced on it. He has said his recruitment is over. He will not be taking visits to other schools.

Player name: Thomas Fletcher, 2-star LS, Bradenton, Fla.

Team to worry about the most: None

Why: Alabama’s newest commit was extended an offer at Alabama’s special teams camp, but he took a few weeks to think about his decision. The Crimson Tide beat out the Florida State Seminoles for his commitment. Fletcher is done with college visits.

Alabama certainly has every reason to be confident each season. The Crimson Tide have dominated the national championship landscape for the last several years, establishing a powerhouse program that never seems to fade.

Alabama is already out to a good start for 2017 and the 2017 class. The Alabama swagger and confidence already exists.

Just ask five-star Alex Leatherwood. He tweeted his confidence that this Alabama class is the best the storied program has ever seen:

This Alabama 2017 class will the be the best ever in recruiting history. ?????? #RollTide

We don't accept silent. If you commit to the process you gotta let the world know. ?? Roll Tide LINK

He was not accepting challenges for sure. He is very confident about this group.

It is hard not to be. For the 2017 class, they still have some work to do to win the recruiting battle. 247Sports Composite Rankings are have Alabama with the second best class behind Ohio State as of today.

Alabama has two five-star prospects, including Leatherwood. They have 10 four-star prospects and two three-star prospects committed already.

They certainly have plenty of talent. The question though is whether they are truly among the greatest of the great. Could they make it like the Nebraska teams of the mid-1990s? Or the Florida Gators’ vaunted class of 2006 that won two national championships?

BRADENTON, Fla. — Jalen and Jared Mayden played on the same team for three years, and the younger brother said it would be nice to reunite once again when he gets to college.

Jared, who was a 4-star cornerback from Sachse (Texas) High School, signed with Alabama in 2016. Jalen is a 2018 4-star quarterback from Sachse High School who is looking to receive an offer from his brother’s school.

“It would be pretty nice to play with my brother,” Mayden told SEC Country at the IMG 7-on-7 national championships. “If they offered me, I would definitely narrow my schools down to a top five. Alabama would be in the mix.”

Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin traveled to Mayden’s school this spring during the evaluation process, but he did not offer the quarterback. Kiffin told Mayden he’d like for him to come to one of the team’s summer camps in July to work out once again. He did tell the quarterback what he needed to see out of him in order to earn a scholarship offer.

“He feels like I throw naturally, Mayden said. “There are a couple of things he says I need to work on like needing to push off my back foot and drive into some of my throws.”

The Crimson Tide’s current top quarterback target in the 2018 class is Jack West, a 4-star prospect from Saraland (Ala.) High School. West is strongly considering Alabama and Stanford at this time. The majority of his immediate and extended family are Alabama fans, and so is he. The confidence level in projecting West in the 2018 class is high at the moment.

Could Alabama sign both West and Mayden in the 2018 class? It’s not going to be a given even if Mayden is extended an offer.

“Alabama is a top school for sure, but my recruitment is going to come down to who recruits me the hardest,” Mayden said.

Mayden is rated as the nation’s No. 9 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 26 prospect in the state of Texas in the Class of 2018.

College coaches everywhere will get a much-needed breather starting today, as June 27 marks the start of the NCAA’s dead period, which runs until July 10. During this period, recruits and coaches cannot meet in person.

Usually, during this stretch of time, college coaches take vacation to get away from the hectic summer of recruiting. However, that’s not going to put a hold on recruiting news.

SEC Country was in Bradenton, Fla., this past weekend for the IMG 7-on-7 national championships, where several Alabama targets were participating. Crimson Tide quarterback commit Mac Jones was the marquee name in attendance, and the 4-star shined during the event.

The main part of Jones’ game that stood out to me is the fact that he doesn’t take too many unnecessary risks with the ball. He’s very accurate. Jones is also very confident on and off the field. You can tell that guys gravitate toward him because of his personality. There are a lot of comparisons out there between him and former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, and I’d agree with them.

In Jones and fellow 4-star Tua Tagovailoa, the other Alabama QB commit in the Class of 2017, the Tide have a bright future at the position.

Notes & nuggets from the weekend:

Jones admits that he would have been a Florida Gator if the school offered him early in his recruitment. He is using that fact to help recruit 4-star wide receiver Nico Collins. Interesting approach.

There are plenty of questions surrounding why Alabama would use a scholarship on a long snapper. Thomas Fletcher, the nation’s top long snapper, committed to Alabama this past Thursday. Fletcher attends IMG Academy, the home of major Alabama targets such as Dylan Moses and Robert Beal. Declining a commitment from Fletcher would likely be a bad look for Alabama at a school that produces multiple elite football prospects every year.

Shaun Wade, a 5-star cornerback committed to Ohio State, told SEC Country that on his last visit he had a chance to talk to Alabama corner Minkah Fitzpatrick. The Tide star wants to see Wade in an Alabama jersey come next year. Though Alabama has tons of depth at the position, Fitzpatrick said Wade shouldn’t look at the depth chart. His message resonated with Wade. It’s going to be a battle with Ohio State for Wade, and Alabama is definitely in the race.

Grant Delpit, a 4-star safety from IMG Academy, named Alabama one of his finalists with a commitment expected to come on July 10. Alabama is not a factor in his decision. He will not be choosing Alabama. It would be a complete shock if he went anywhere other than LSU.

Wyatt Davis, a 5-star offensive guard, committed to Ohio State over Alabama on Friday. The Crimson Tide had lost ground over the past few weeks. He is still planning on taking an official visit to Alabama this fall. Look for the Tide to continue prioritizing 5-star tackle Isaiah Wilson and 4-star tackle Trey Smith.

I know Alex quite well. He reminds me so much of DJ Fluker in personality. Loves to have fun and passionate.

This class mirrors 2009 fairly well personality wise, biggest recruiters are the QB(whom has been compared to AJ) and the 5* OT. Have the out of state 5* RB that is committed, but flirting with instate schools.

Just need Mac Jones to give Leatherwood a Christmas gift in December like McCarron did Fluker

I stay out of his business but he did tell me his heart is with Bama.

I could find out if needed.

He basically lives in Alabama. The FL panhandle is more pro-Bama than pro-FL schools. It almost may as well be Mobile. I generally feel confident about FL panhandle kids.

The panhandle is pretty split. Lots of UF, FSU, Bama, and AU. Alex wasn't dedicated when he was younger, but I see him on the high school field by himself when no practice is going on. He wants to make it. Hopefully that will be with BAMA. If I had a guess, it is Bama. He is not one to say Bama when it is not.

I grew up in destin (born and raised) and agree on the split. It's prob more FSU/UF as the majority with bama more of a #2. Pensacola is prob a bit more bama then destin Panama City area. Seems the more east you go down HWY 98 the more FSU/UF fans their are.

I'd hope so, considering he's publicly committed and one of Alabama's biggest recruiters among commits.

Dobbins on the Bama offer:

“It was great man,” Dobbins told Landof10 about his most recent trip. “I can’t wait to be a part of the team. I’m 100 percent. The offer from Alabama is pretty cool, no matter what, but please tell Buckeyes fans that I said ‘O-H’!”

100% committed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Think sometimes these guys are offered to 1) make OSU work a little harder to keep them and 2) to show other recruits that maybe their spot could get filled if they wait too long to make a decision. Do not see him leaving unless Akers commits to OSU, then all bets are off.

We've seen that go bad before.

I don't expect that from Alex. Although I never saw him wearing Bama gear growing up. Not sure his fandom. Might have been UF.
