Young has been trying to get to Alabama for a few months, but transportation and timing is yet to work out. He is optimistic, though, he will get to campus in July.
"That's another winning school," Young said. "They are going to get the players, and when you play, they're going to have great players around you. You're not going to be there alone. They're going to develop you as a player, and as a man. You see that because they are sending players to the (NFL) all the time."
Young is also developing a bond with coach Nick Saban.
"He tells me about the school, and the academics, because I want to major in criminology," Young said. "He said if, 'If you come here, there's a good chance you will go to the next level to play.' "

Five-star prospect Devon Hunter narrowed his list to 11 today and following his announcement, the Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River standout spoke with Scout.
After receiving countless scholarship offers from across the country, Devon Hunter released his top 11 schools today.
In no specific order, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennesse and Virginia Tech made the cut.
He gave a quick thought on each school.
Alabama: "It's big-time football and I'd love to go in there and be a part of the program and help them continue to have success," said the 6-foot-2, 206-pound Hunter.

Liked our chances with Hunter when Yulee was committed, but not sure we are much more than a "hat on the table"...........but a man can dream can't he?

Another Wade update. It doesnt make sense to me that he won't just say he is going to take an official to Bama. It's just strange at this point

Believes he's playing the "long con".......

I thought he only planned official visits to Ohio State and Notre Dame so far.

Yep, seems to be doing everything to make people think Bama isn't in his top group. But if you watch his interviews when Bama is discussed, you can see his eyes light up.

We need king for depth pretty bad.

Agree.....should be good to go if we are to believe reports.
Hate to say this, but I believe the DL success will be dictated on Josh Frazier........and his ability to become a major contributor. From what I've heard, OJ Smith and Johnny Dwight aren't expected to step up, but Frazier, with his recent lose of significant weight, could me the missing piece to the depth that Bama needs.
Jennings and Q. Williams will be great players, but not at the DT in the 3-4 set. Need Frazier for that

King should be good. And you're dead on with Frazier. He seems to really want it finally. And he will be very key. He can be a great DT. Weighed in at 308 the other day and wants to get to 295.
We need Jennings to continue developing in the weight room, and Q. Williams, Terrell Hall, and Raekwon Davis to follow suit. We REALLY need Hall to become a DE, IMO. He's already 260+. The staff thinks he's a potential high 1st round pick in 3-4 years. Let's hope Raekwon's eligibility doesn't become a concern. Even though he's on campus, there's a report out there that hasn't made a public message board yet (maybe for good reason) that there is still a little bit of concern there. We need everything to go right and all of our guys to develop on the DL. They even think Dakota Ball has a chance to possibly be a Nick Gentry type of specialist on the DL this Fall. While that sort of sounds like "Gumping", there is some positive hope that he has a real chance to be a good player this Fall, according to a couple staffers (via redfish). Here's hoping he's even half the player Gentry was his senior year. I'll guess Jennings switches between Jack and DE this Fall.
Hopefully we go into 2017 with at least 6 reliable DL. Payne, Hand, Frazier, Jennings, King, Quinnen Williams, Raekwon Davis, Hall (Jack?). We need a great 2017 class, though.

I think we land LaBryan Ray, Ryan Johnson, Akial Byers and one more DT in the 2017 class. Hopefully that someone is Marvin Wilson.

Sounds great to me. Hopefully Byers' grades aren't a big problem.

Add Tyler Shelvin to the possibility list........already had relationship with Dunbar's family, and Davis wasn't his primary recruiter anyway.
