Rice isn't a take?
He's the best LB in the state for 17 not named Ignont or Benton. Rice is a great player. If we can finish with Ignont, Rice, Cowan, Johnson, and one of Moses/Allen, that'd be quite a haul.

Charles Baldwin dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules. Should be good depth chart insurance for Leatherwood.

But won't help with that former JuCo teammate.

Maybe not. But it wasn't our fault. We probably have a good relationship with the coach, which would be most important.

You are over rating Benton, way overrated.

Looks like Bama will take another OL in this year's class.

The issue is Troxell. From what I've gathered, he's all Bama unless we load up on a bunch of 5* tackles again. Had we signed Greg Little, we wouldn't be signing Troxell this time. But yeah, for depth we need another one now.
Trey Smith and/or Elliott Baker (isn't that his name? too lazy to look right now) from Juco seem to be good options.

And Leatherwood is the best in the country. Like I said, this should only help things with him.

Troxell must not be too confident in his ability. He can go ahead and go to Auburn. Bama wants the best of the best, not someone who doesn't want to compete.

Trey Smith is the #1 overall player in ESPN's rankings.

Troxell needs a few years anywhere he goes, he's got some injuries and he's not even close to filling out his frame(because he's so damn tall).

The thing is, he's 310 pounds right now and STILL looks slim even after gaining all that weight in the last six months or so. He looks like a legit 6'8" right now.
Give me Trey Smith, too. Can't have too many tackles with elite athletic ability.

He'll probably drop a lot of it when he's able to work out more freely after he finishes his rehab on his knee. Troxell himself said he's out of shape, carrying some bad weight.

Alabama is shooting for its seventh straight crown as recruiting champions.
Currently, the Crimson Tide are ranked third behind Oklahoma and Ohio State, but that’s because the Sooners have three more commitments than the Tide’s nine while the Buckeyes have four more. On average, Alabama has a higher-rated class (94.52) than both Oklahoma (91.66) and Ohio State (93.94).
What bodes well for Alabama’s chances at another run for the top spot is the fact that the Tide are in the middle of the race for several five-star prospects. In 2016, Alabama signed three five-stars (OT Jonah Williams and LBs Ben Davis and Lyndell “Mack” Wilson).
With nine months to go until National Signing Day 2017, I am expecting the Tide to sign three five-stars with the possibility that two of them (Alabama offensive tackle commit Alex Leatherwood and wide receiver target Devonta Smith) become composite five-stars at some point in their recruitment.
That would make five five-star prospects for Alabama, a number that should get the Crimson Tide its seventh straight title.
With that being said, here’s SEC Country’s first mock signing class for Alabama.

Quarterback:
Tua Tagovailoa*, Saint Louis School, Honolulu
There certainly will be a lot of chatter over the next several months concerning the status of four-star Tua Tagovailoa’s commitment.
The Hawaiian prospect lives more than 4,000 miles away from Bryant-Denny Stadium, which is a concern when it comes time to actually signing his letter of intent. Will he get cold feet and leave Alabama without a quarterback in the Class of 2017? I don’t see it.
From my talks with him and his family, they’ve made it clear that a commitment is a commitment. The only way I can see Tagovailoa leaving Alabama is if offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin gets a head coaching opportunity elsewhere. The Tagovailoas have developed a good relationship with Kiffin, but even then, they are close with Nick Saban.
Tagovailoa is going to be a cornerstone in this class, and Alabama is certainly happy to have the dual-threat QB on board. Expect him to be a recruiter for this class.
