UGA Dawg Treats that are related to guys we are targeting. Alot of this info is redundant to some other posts ITT but still some decent info nonetheless as always, TIFWIW...

* Sources feel like UGA is in front for Demetris Robertson. He has an excellent relationship with Kirby. The battle will go until NSD for him.

* Alabama tried to make a move to secure an in-home with Elijah Holyfield. The visit did not happen and they feel like he is solid in his commitment to UGA. (We need another RB in this class desperately)

* Alabama has also been trying to get in with 2016 DT [link=https://247sports.com/Player/Julian-Rochester-35453(Julian Rochester)]Julian Rochester[/link] but he is also solid and expected to enroll at UGA in a couple of weeks.

* Glen Schumann hit the trail extremely hard last week. He met with Demetris Robertson, flew out to Houston to see Dontavious Jackson, and continued out to Louisiana to see Devonta Smith and Shyheim Carter. It's a business for sure but that list makes me want to )

* Schumann also went in-home with Mack Wilson after Nick Saban left. They are expecting Wilson to take his OV to Georgia around Jan 15th and they (Dawgs247) consider Florida to be his leader followed by Alabama with UGA sitting at #3.

* Shyheim Carter is pretty wide open at this point but he loves Kirby and UGA. Carter is expected to try to take several OV's in January. He has a long list of schools in the running for his signature.

* UGA commit Devonta Smith is solid and has also great relationships with the new staff but Sam Petitto is still an important piece of the puzzle. (Remember Smith and Carter are extremely close and could be viewed as somewhat of a package deal).

* Replacing Mark Richt with Kirby Smart has flat out improved Georgia's chances of landing 5-Star 2017 CB DeAngelo Gibbs. DeAngelo has said so himself.

* 2017 LB Jaden Hunter is pretty much a lock to commit to Georgia given his family ties to the school and HC.

* Several prospects have said that Kirby taking over at UGA has pretty much made Mecole Hardman a lock to UGA as well.

* One of these aforementioned prospects also said Kirby told him that he should have his DC announced sometime in January. (Stay away from Tucker Kirby... ijs)

BOL just posted a post-OV update on Derrick Brown. They spoke with Derrick's mother and she said the visit exceeded her expectations.

The staff did an excellent job of appealing to her maternal instincts. She loved the fact that 23 players graduated Saturday and that Alabama has the highest graduation rate in the SEC.

Obviously, Jeremy Pruitt is a key factor here as the Brown's consider him to be a familiar face and the family already has a good relationship with him.

Finally, she said that she and her husband are proud of where Derrick is now and they don't want him to be headed to a place where he could stumble. They feel like Alabama did a great job of making them feel comfortable with the environment that's present for student-athletes.

Bailey Hockman decommitted from UGA. I still think we got the better QB in Fromm.

Poster named 92DT started a thread that Fromm was going to de-commit.

The nation's No. 1 kicker Eddy Pineiro, an Alabama commit, will make his final decision between Bama and Florida on Tuesday, a source tells BamaOnline. The same source indicated that Georgia 'may' be in the mix, but the decision will likely come down to the Tide and the Gators.

So we've lost Fromm, Pineiro, Prukop, baby Jesus and the entire Harlem Globetrotter team all in one day.

frick me.

I just can't see Fromm committing to UGA if Eason sticks with his commitment. I could be wrong as two left shoes but I just don't see it. But all this talk of losing "committed athletes" is disturbing.

Well someone on BOL said that Fromm's dad and Kirby are good friends. He said that he didn't know if the other kid de-committing caused this or Fromm likely going to Georgia caused the other kid to de-commit

The good thing is we can live without all of them except for Jesus.

We have to expect some of these things to happen. You have a new fresh face at a power house so all momentum gets pushed in that direction. Even with NC, Heisman, Sec Champs we are the ones who are established and kids sometimes like the new things. BAMA will be ok and we should get some momentum back when we start playing again.

With some of the QB issues we've had recently (Lane did a good job of developing Sims and Coker, but neither is an elite QB)...I think the more guys we bring in to compete the better. That only increases our odds of finding a stud. As it stands now, I see a BB6 and Bateman battle in 2016 with Cornwell in the mix if he sticks around. Morris will graduate an leave I bet, new guy will redshirt and I see the Russian dude going to Oregon, although I'd love to have him.

Oh yea, the sky is not falling for sure. LOL. I was just saying I didn't think he would commit to UGA with the supposedly "all world" QB Eason going there this year (If he keeps his commitment) I actually think we are fine at the QB spot with Barnett and Hurts committed plus the others. Just gets annoying taking the early commits and they not stick in the end. Kids these days. LOL. RTR

I'm much rather us go with BB. Reason being is that he can make plays with is feet and you can teach him how to manage a game. LK can also help him by not putting him in bad situations where he has to make a big play to keep us in a game or win a game for us.

I agree and wasn't trying to imply that your post was a sky falling type. I am just under them impression that these kids are 17-19 YO and their minds change when the wind blows. I know as I have one right now,

BOL gave us some weekend notes...

* On Mack Wilson, its pretty much the same as the Georgia update... Florida DC Geoff Collins, Coach Saban, and UGA Assistant Schumann all went in-home with him over the weekend. Since taking over as Alabama DC, Jeremy Pruitt has spoken with Mack but hasn't seen him in person yet.

* Marlon Davidson is still 75% committed to Auburn (At least he is honest and consistent). Marlon hosted Bo Davis and Coach Saban and the visit supposedly went well. Final decision from Davidson is coming Wednesday (12/16).

* Eddy Pineiro had a great visit to Alabama and by all accounts, the staff is pulling out all the stops. A final decision is coming tuesday, but BOL's source close to Eddy thinks he will stick with Alabama.

* Bo Davis was back in Mississippi visiting with Jeffery Simmons over the weekend as well. Davis and the Tide staff have made it clear to Simmons that he is a top priority. They are in an extremely good shape with Simmons.

I think Bateman is done as QB for UA and Morris will be gone.

If Bateman was done he wouldn't be getting all the backup snaps currently.

If anything, history has shown us the guy who gets all the backup snaps is the next starter.
