He's 212 pounds. He's just 6'5" with ridiculously long arms, so he looks rail thin. He's not REALLY that skinny. He'll be fine in 2016.

I also want to address the old and popular misnomer about "X quarterback is NEVER going to make it running in the SEC". When is the last time one of the read option smaller, elusive QBs actually didn't make it through the season? Everyone always says it, then the QB runs 10-15 times a game, and never actually gets hurt. It's becoming a myth.

Colt McCoy comes to mind. Marcell Dareus bumped into him and the poor little guy could never play another down. He would remind you of Stephen Hawking if you saw him today. Sad.

That would be 12 pounds gained, but that's still Basketball player size. Those hits that Coker is taking would break Barnett, IMO.

You do realize Colt has played some last year in the League right? He even had a 392 3 TD game last yr and lost the starting job this year to Cousins in Washington

He just doesn't run much anymore

Shoulders knocked out of joint don't really matter if you're 210 or 285. If hit on the right spot, it's just going to pop out of place. You guys always say this, and they never get injured.... after running 20 times a game.

212 is bigger than Manziel, Colt Mccoy, probably Boykin at TCU, the machine gun-wielding QB at Ole Mi$$ whose name escapes me, probably Dobbs, and a bunch of other dual threat guys. And he'll probably be 220 next year. He'll be fine. With his frame, he'd look lanky at 240.

Freedom senior running back B.J. Emmons became the 25th player in state history to cross 6,000 career rushing yards in Friday's 52-14 road win at St. Stephens in Northwestern 3A/4A Conference play.

The Alabama verbal commit didn't stop there, however, ending the night with 20 carries for 259 yards and four touchdowns to give him 6,215 on the ground to date unofficially to assume 21st place overall according to the NCHSAA record book.

The rushing TDs give him 90 in 33 varsity games at the position (94 total)

quote:

Emmons opened the game with a 43-yard kickoff return across midfield, then ran for a 43-yard touchdown on the next play.

His last TD of the game was a 92-yd cutback TD run which sealed the deal for his team as before that they were only up by a TD. After that TD the opponent never scored again.

As good as the RB position has been at Bama under Saban (Ingram, TRich, Lacy, Yeldon, and now Henry) BJ has the potential to be extremely special.

We need him to be special. We have nothing coming back next year but another LB in a backs body and an underwhelming Harris.

Harris will be very good. I don't really care about junk time behind a 2nd team OL that's a sieve. The one time he had blocking he went for 40+. The coaches think he will be very very good.

Neither of the freshmen backs are close to Henry's level yet. Of course not. We'll be fine next year, talent-wise. Numbers-wise, though... we need to sign more.

Bama commitments posted big numbers on Thursday and Friday night. As always BamaOnline will recap every Tide commit's performance in Sunday evening's Following the Future piece.

T.J. Simmons, WR, Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville - Simmons had a monster game catching six passes for 133 yards and four touchdowns in the Cougars' 53-35 win over Hewitt-Trussvile on Friday night. Clay-Chalkville is 11-0 on the season heading into next week's matchup with Cullman.

B.J. Emmons, RB, Morganton (N.C.) Freedom - Emmons had a monster game on Thursday night carrying the ball 20 times for 259 yards and four touchdowns in the Patriots' 52-14 win at St. Stephens. 10-1 Freedom plays at Patton next week.

Najee Harris, RB, Antioch (Calif.) - Harris rushed eight times for 105 yards and three touchdowns, including two, two-point conversions. Harris played the first quarter, was a decoy during the second quarter and sat out the second half in the Panthers' 62-9 win over Deer Valley. Harris reached 28 total touchdowns on the season breaking a 70-year-old record. 9-0 Antioch plays at Pittsburg next week.

Jake Fromm, QB, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston Country - Fromm went 14 of 21 passing for 224 yards and three touchdowns in the Bears' 42-15 win over Evans. 8-1 Houston County plays at Northside next week.

Miller Forristall, TE, Cartersville (Ga.) - Forristall had big night catching three passes for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Hurricanes' 49-0 win over LaFayette. 247Sports' Rusty Mansell captured a video of Forristall's catch and run for a touchdown:

They are still in the regular season correct? How many regular season games do they play? I thought all Alabama schools played at most 10.

Simmons is a great player. He'll be a very good college receiver and will be the best blocking WR we've had in some time. If the recruiting services have any sense at all, he'll get a big ratings bump.

emmons has that lightning quick cut to go along with his power, like fornette and gurley and chubb (how good is georgia rb recruiting?). henry is great when he gets some steam, but is not quick twitch like that. im not ready to write off harris. hes not really getting good opportunities, with our oline a mess. He has tons of physical potential and was the #1 rb for a reason. our blocking has been so sporadic and he just does not have a large enough sample size to judge anything

I agree about Emmons. He looks as good or better than the other backs in this class. I also think Harris has tons of potential. People forget that Henry struggled as a freshman too. Yeldon was the exception, but he was running behind an unreal Oline.
