Brandon Brooks held up when he was asked to play.

I don't think it will be hard to say he might have more talent than Brooks.

I have to disagree...The staff could've gave that scholarship to many other people. This isn't just a walk on. He had a offer from MSU. He can be a player for us one day.

we will have to agree to disagree but if he was brought in for RB depth for this year then I dont see him helping at all. Years down the road maybe.

Saban has been pretty consistent about recruiting guys that give bama a great scout team look to help prepare for teams/players on the schedule.

From the highlights the kid looks like a homerun threat and I am sure the staff sees that value in that type of ability. Onterio McCalebb was pretty small, weight wise, and he held up well in the SEC.

Summarized Nuggets:
quote:

- Alabama is in the mix for Dexter Lawrence following his visit for the cookout. Sources indicate that the Florida schools not a good fit schematically which could give Bama the edge.

- Nigel Warrior visit gives the Tide a ton of momentum. Still work to do, but worth watching.

- Diggs still trending Bama

- Look for Cavin Ridley to make a decision fairly soon. Alabama still considered leader and expected to follow brother.

- Emmons committed a week ago but needed time to go public to let other schools know intentions and get family blessings.

- Sources believe Elijah Holyfield decision comes down to Bama and UGA.

- According to sources Xavier Kelly wants to play ball where his mom who lives in Kansas and dad who lives in GA can drive to see him play. Could give Tide a geographical middle ground in the long run

- Keep an eye on Keith Gavin who was in Tuscaloosa last week. Feels he could play early at Bama, but FSU will still be tough to beat

- Jake Fromm has emerged as a top signal caller for the Tide. Watch out for an early commitment

- Demetrius Robertson recruitment should come down to UGA and Bama. Torn on both schools

- Staff is thrilled to have Quinnen Williams.

Um ok? You are in the minority. And by minority, you may be the only one.

Interview with Emmons' coach

quote:

"B.J. is a tremendous running back and a tremendous athlete, a very powerful runner that has good, quality speed for his size. I certainly think that he's the type of tailback that Coach (Nick) Saban has always tried to fit in his system because they're a downhill running offense and very powerful, inside zone schemes, run a lot of gap schemes as well. I think B.J. will fit in well with that aspect and I tell people that B.J.'s hidden attributes are that he has tremendous hands and can run great routes and catch the ball out of the backfield. I think they're getting an all-around back."

Does B.J. still have academic work to do?
quote:

"He does. B.J. is actually taking three classes this summer to put himself in line to go ahead and play as a freshman."

Wow, yesterday you were excited and happy about a 5'8" 155lb. RB, but today you don't want a guy like D.White?

Well I don't think he is going to be great at RB. Maybe if he plays some other position. He isn't better than Emmons in my position and id rather have a different type of back to switch it up like Abdul.

Yea im excited. We have 2 proven RBs. 1 coming off a injury. We need depth. My being happy about getting depth has nothing to do with White. Id be happy if we got White but I just don't believe he is going to be what everyone thinks. Guess I shouldn't said I don't want him but instead said id rather have him at another position.

He is in the exact mold of jalston fowler but is faster and has more athletic ability. Fowler played running back and middle linebacker for vigor.
