They also have a history of using them. And often play with as many as four on the field at once. Don't blame him when you package that with an Ivy League-like education in a setting like Palo Alto.

TaDarryl Marshall got another CB to Bama.
He says Bama offered hin as a QB but I just don't see it.

Looks like Georgia Tech is in the driver seat according to the Crystal Ball.

He may be getting a "QB offer" but he won't be the only QB we take in this class if that is truly the case.

Only time I saw Marshall play he was easily the best player on the field but he got ejected in the first half for trash talking. Kid is as slippery as a snake in traffic

Marshall
Has talent. Seems way more shifty than fast though. I've seen him tracked down by players that I would not call fast by any stretch, but he is elusive in space. Not a QB at the next level though. Might be a slot WR, PR, or maybe a third corner.
(admittedly, I've only seen him a few times)

Co worker son plays for Leeds. He is leaning GT right now . Probably would be a good fit there. I really like Tre Nation though. Hope Bama offers him soon.

It would be cool to get a commitment from Cavin at Aday...a little deja vu
It wouldn't surprise me to see 1 of the in-state 5* guys and a QB commit either in the next 2 or 3 months or Aday either
I'd like another elusive type do-it-all guy like we had with Sims and that might just be Marshall

Jay Jay Jones from Mcadory looks like a college Sims clone.

We got another CB for Willie Allen.

The 247Sports state of Alabama rankings for the class of 2016 will undergo significant changes over the course of the camp season this spring and summer. But the changes have already begun. The 2016 Alabama rankings have been updated with several major moves, many of which affect the Top247 national list.
New No. 1
We love the crop of linebackers in the state of Alabama in 2016. Both Ben Davis and Lyndell Wilson have an opportunity to earn a fifth star with strong performances this spring or summer. At this time, we like Davis slightly above Wilson because of Davis’ length advantage at 6-4. With the move up to No. 1 in the state, Davis also moves up to No. 21 in the country.
Top ten shakeup
***After a strong junior campaign, Marlon Davidson moves up to No. 3 in the state of Alabama while cornerback John Broussard falls to No. 6.
***Another great linebacker in the state has emerged as well in recent South Carolina commit JaCorey Morris who checks in at No. 7 in the state and No. 188 in the country.
***Auburn commit Quinnen Williams and linebacker P.J. Blue also jumped into the Top ten with Williams sneaking into the Top247. Both prospects could continue to rise with strong showings this spring.
***Ole Miss commit Denzel Mitchell tumbled to No. 10 but remains a four-star.
Three-stars of note
***Keep an eye on Deonte Brown, a big offnensive lineman out of Decatur (Ala.) Austin. The 6-3, 330-pounder has already landed offers from Tennessee, Louisville, Mississippi State and Troy. He’s No. 11 in the state as an 89-rate three-star but that number could rise with in-person evaluations this spring.
***Malik Miller and TaDarryl Marshall both fell into the three-star range with Miller projecting more as a fullback and Marshall still unclear as to what he plays on the next level.
Big backs in Bama
If you’re looking for a powerful back in the 2016 class, Alabama is the place to go. In addition to Denzel Mitchell and Malik Miller, the state is home to Lamical Perine (5-11/210), Tyus Flakes (5-11/195), Tre Nation (6-0/220), Josh Johnson (5-9/215), Jarrion Street (6-1/195), and Kingston Davis (6-1/225). All are ranked within the Top 50 in the state.

With Alabama's 2015 recruiting class signed and in the books, it's time to get familiar with a new batch of prospects. Over the next several days, AL.com will be providing position-by-position looks at Alabama's top targets in the 2016 recruiting cycle. Today, we're analyzing the quarterback position.
TOP QUARTERBACK TARGET
Shea Patterson (6-foot-2, 195 pounds | Shreveport, La.)
Alabama usually pulls in one of two top Louisiana prospects and of Alabama's QB targets, Patterson is the highest-rated at five stars (and that's why he's listed as the top quarterback target here) and No. 18 overall in the 247Sports composite. He was once committed to Arizona but decommitted after his brother was hired to the LSU staff. Reporters are coming out that Sean Patterson has resigned (debunked by his father three days ago) for a position at Ole Miss. Look for LSU, Ole Miss and Auburn to be among the top contenders along with Alabama. Patterson is close with top receiver Mykel Jones and Alabama is after both.

3 MORE TO WATCH
KJ Costello (6-foot-4, 213 pounds | Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.)
Alabama offered Costello around the same time that this year's signee Blake Barnett committed. Could Alabama get a West Coast quarterback two years in a row. Costello plays for a top program out there and obviously he and Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin are familiar with each other. Stanford, USC and Michigan appear to be the other top contenders for the four-star.
Jawon Pass (6-foot-5, 213 pounds | Columbus, Ga.)
Pass is rated as a four star on the 247Sports composite, but the No. 12 overall prospect on the 247Sports individual rankings. The dual-threat quarterback has been to Alabama multiple times and was a high school teammate of Tide signee Mekhi Brown. Pass' brother signed with Louisville and Louisville, Auburn and Mississippi State look like early contenders along with Alabama.
Dwayne Haskins (6-foot-2, 185 pounds | Potomoc, Md.)
This is a new name to the list, as Haskins tweeted that he was recently offered by Lane Kiffin. Haskins is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 66 overall player in the country. He has more than 40 offers and Ohio State, Maryland and Penn State seem to be the early favorites. It will be interesting to see what push Alabama makes.

IN-STATE WATCH
Alabama gave Leeds quarterback Tadarryl Marshall a verbal offer at a recent Junior Day, showing that dual-threat quarterbacks are a priority. Marshall doesn't pass much in a run-first offense at Leeds, but has the arm and athleticism to succeed at the next level.

Derrick Brown has seen his stock rise quite a bit over the last five months, and now it's bumped him up to 5-star status.
The defensive tackle from Georgia became the newest addition to 247Sports' top tier of recruits in the 2016 class, jumping up to No. 22 overall after the site updated its composite rankings on Monday. He had previously been ranked 33rd and as recently as September was 84th.
Brown, who is listed at 6'4" and 309 pounds, is the fifth-best defensive tackle and the No. 3 recruit in Georgia, per 247. Last season as a junior, he had 101 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks for Lanier High School in Sugar Hill, Georgia, according to Max Preps.
He also returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown in a game against Gainesville, Lanier coach Korey Mobbs told Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"He ran away from three or four skill players," Mobbs said. "That's when we knew he was special. He's basically a 300-pounder who moves like he's 200 pounds."
Brown has more than 30 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida Georgia and Georgia Tech. He was scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Alabama, per Tyler Donohue of Bleacher Report.
"Both of Brown's parents attended Mississippi State, and the Bulldogs have made his top 10 list of favorite colleges, along with Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, South Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Tennessee," Carvell wrote. "He plans to reach a college decision after taking all five official visits next year."
Early predictions have him becoming a Bulldog, as 247's Crystal Ball lists Georgia at 100 percent based on 11 expert picks. According to 247Sports, the Bulldogs already have commitments from two other 5-star prospects in the 2016 class: quarterback Jacob Eason (No. 4) and offensive tackle Ben Cleveland (No. 19).
Rusty Mansell thinks it will come down to Alabama and Georgia for Brown.

@CecilHurt: Running back Tyren Jones has been suspended indefinitely from the Alabama football team, per Coach Nick Saban.
Well that sucks

Well damn. Kid just can't stay out of trouble
Posted on 2/10/15 at 4:54 pm to SECSolomonGrundy
Yeah hopefully he can work his way back like Tim Williams did. If not we're going to be really short-handed at RB for A-day especially if Drake is limited.

It's to the point Coach has no choice, but to advise the kid to "explore" other options. smh

Yeah, I hope he comes back, but the chances are very slim now. We've seen other guys be hit with the dreaded "suspended indefinitely" tag and still made it back. But I can't remember anyone who has had as many problems at Tyren and still made it back.

Better late than never, but our chances are slim to none. I wonder why we didn't try to recruit him before. We need ILB depth.
