KELDRICK CESAR HAS HIS EYE ON TWO PROGRAMS
Corey Bender
Florida Recruiting Analyst

Miami-Dade has its reputation for manufacturing dozens of skilled players year in and year out, but there's a hog in the trenches out of Miami (Fla.) Edison who's starting to generate a ton of chatter on the recruiting trail. Possessing a handful of early offers, Keldrick Cesar says two schools are atop his list heading into the summer.

A name that's starting to surface on the recruiting scene more and more is Keldrick Cesar, a gifted offensive lineman and rising senior out of Miami (Fla.) Edison. Tipping the scales at 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, Cesar is an agile technician that reaches the second level with ease.

Cesar, who's equipped with a handful of scholarship offers early on, does a good job of locking onto the defender and driving his feet up the football field. He's a physical offensive lineman who plays with nice bend and leverage as well.

"Recruiting is going very good and I'm leaving for Alabama this Saturday," Cesar said. "I have offers from South Florida, Syracuse, Temple, Middle Tennessee and Monmouth. Schools that are sticking out right now are Syracuse and USF."

Former 5-Star WR Derrick Griffin Could End Up Playing For Texas A&M This Season
Andrew Holleran

Texas A&M’s football program could be on the verge of adding some serious talent to its wide receiver corps.

According to a report by 247 Sports, Derrick Griffin, a former five-star wide receiver who attends Texas Southern, might be eligible to transfer out of the Houston college and play immediately at the school of his choosing this fall.

Griffin, a former Texas A&M commit, never signed a national letter of intent at Texas Southern; he enrolled as a normal student. So, he has four years of eligibility left and should be able to play right away, after making good grades this past year.

The 6-foot-6, 216-pound wideout vaguely addressed the report on Twitter this afternoon.

Griffin would be a major addition to any program. According to 247 Sports, Texas A&M is his first choice but Miami and TCU are also interested.

This was posted by College Spun. I highly doubt they have any inside info, but I thought it was interesting that they listed Miami and TCU as other schools. I wonder where we fall in his order of preference.

5-star DT Derrick Brown changes it up
Kipp Adams - 8 hours ago 47

BUFORD, GA. — For the past few months, five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown (Buford, Ga./Lanier) had the University of Georgia as his leader. His opinion of the Bulldogs has not changed, but not everything is the same.

"I don't really have an overall favorite," Brown said Wednesday. "I just want to be able to step back and take a look at all the schools, and with having a favorite, I do not feel like I would be able to give every school a fair opportunity."

That is not to say the Bulldogs have dropped for the No. 1 prospect in Georgia, No. 2 defensive tackle in the country and No. 4 overall prospect in the 2016 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

"They are still at the top for sure," Brown. "Along with Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee. Those are the main four I am looking into. I will definitely make some visits this summer and discuss them with my parents."

The Bulldogs' coaching staff has developed a strong bond with the 6-foot-4, 305-pound defensive tackle.

"They are definitely up there at the top because I have built such a great relationships with Coach Tracy Rocker and Coach Jeremy Pruitt," Brown said. "Just being able to talk to those coaches and have them to rely on when I am going to a place for four years is a good thing."

Georgia has piqued Brown's interest on and off the field.

"The Terry business school," Brown said. "I want to major in marketing, and that is a big part of my academics."

Once thought to be a lock to wait until signing day to announce his decision, the Peach State's top prospect admitted there is a chance he does it earlier.

"At an All-Star game, or after football season," Brown said.

I know you go after the best players regardless of where they are, but something tells me Harbaugh will make it personal with Saban and Alabama. They are trying to rebrand themselves and build a program. Ohio State did that when Meyer got there. Unfortunately it worked out well for them.

I think it has more to do with CJH showing he can recruit in the south with Meyer. UM fans are excited for the hire but they are desperate for results especially anything head to head with OSU. I do not doubt if UM reaches the top tier once again they will recruit nationally very well, but right now they have no chance of being a major player in SEC country until the SEC is looked on as a 2nd tier conference which will not happen while during neither of those two tenure in the Big 10. Meyer has an advantage from his stint at UF but CJH does not and trying to get a foothold in the south may get him one or two each cycle no different than what UA and many other programs are doing going outside the region. But he poses no real threat to UA or any SEC school. Heck who could even dominate his region in the PAC 12 especially in a target rich state like Cal.

to be fair, he had to recruit players that could at least marginally be believed could make it into stanford, similar to what vanderbilt deals with. that eliminates a big chunk of national recruits
