The No. 1 player in Alabama, 5-star Mack Wilson, is lining up at defensive end today for Carver.

What do you think of Jalen Hurts? Kiffin supposedly loves him.

I like Hurts. He has a strong arm. Nice delivery. He needs to improve his footwork though.
I don't like him as much as Haskins or Barrett, but I wouldn't be upset if we landed him (assuming we missed out on the other guys).

Florida State coaches apparently invaded Alabama last night. Their defensive line coach went to see Mack Wilson and Markail Benton.
Another coach visited Malik Miller.

It's odd how much a priority they've made the state of Alabama. It almost seems personal for Fisher.

They know the state is loaded, they've had a hand in the state Jimbo arrived. Its the rest of the nation that needs to catch on about how much talent comes from Alabama.
Its not Florida or Texas, but there's always a damn good amount of talent...

I'd like to see Alabama have closer to half of every class from in-state. The last NFL draft had four Alabama kids drafted that we overlooked. I know it's not exact science, but we've seen more than a few national recruits not pan out while their in-state counterparts develop and excel elsewhere.

What was the deal with Ameer Abdullah coming out of hs? He was very well known. Probably more fitting for a Malzahn offense but still surprising neither school put much effort into getting him. Glad he landed somewhere nice though.

I think we wanted him but didn't have the numbers.

The scholarship limitations really helped a lot of surrounding schools.

Reminds me of when Mike Davis recruited Alabama while he was the hc at IU. Incidentally, Greg Oden and Mike Conley (both from Indiana) went to OSU.

Both Bama and Auburn wanted AA at DB, which wasn't what he wanted to play.
He and Buck Allen were 2 RBs drafted that Saban saw as DBs...

I thought the only reason we didnt take Buck Allen was because of his knee concerns.

It did, but they were looking at him at DB per Allen at the Senior Bowl.

Well we did sign Dee Hart that year. I think Corey Grant as well. Even though they didn't pan out.

Williams committed to Wisconsin over offers from Auburn, Clemson, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State and many others. While some schools have backed off, Williams said Alabama, Georgia, Louisville and North Carolina all dropped by his school recently.
“They’re still trying to get me,” Williams said with a smile.
What’s his response?
“I always tell them there is a possibility in me coming,” said Williams. “I just don’t want to shoot anybody down like that. You never know what could happen with me and Wisconsin. You have to have options, but right now I’m very solid to Wisconsin.”
Williams says he has no planned visits to any schools other than to Wisconsin, which he plans to take an unofficial visit to June 9-11 and an official visit for the Oct 3 Iowa game.
“I’m bringing my mom up to visit (in June),” said Williams. “She hasn’t visited. I’m going to try to be the tour guide.”

Kentwood product and Alabama football commitment Shyheim Carter is known for speed, and he showed that speed on the track on Friday by winning the 100-Meter Dash in the 1A LHSAA State Championships with a time of 10.91 seconds.
The 6-foot, 190-pounder from Kentwood committed to the Crimson Tide 10 months ago and maintains that his pledge is solid.
LSU has received several unofficial visits this spring, and Ole Miss has also received one, prompting speculation by some that his commitment may not be as solid as he says.
However, Geaux247 feels that pledge is on solid ground as things currently stand.
Carter, who is slated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, is expected to visit all three schools again this summer. He is ranked the No. 3 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite and is No. 33 overall.
