That is terrible

Damn, that sucks horribly for him. What was he doing? Not to mention if he were enrolled in a school, he'd probably get better medical care.
I wonder if he's a take st any SEC school now. Being switched to 2015 is really going to screw this kid over, considering he's still absurdly raw.

Per the Mizzou posters, Hentges is supposed to OV to Mizzou Jan 30. He said before he wouldn't take any more visits, so this one might be one to monitor.

FWIW our side hasn't heard anything about Hentges OVing there. He is OVing here this weekend, so maybe our coaches will put the kibosh on that visit then.

How do we not have a spot for an elite left tackle, but have one for Keaton Anderson? LINK

Isaiah Prince
1. Greenbelt, Maryland, Offensive tackle Isaiah Prince has been silent since his visit this past weekend to the Capstone. INTEL has consistently reported the Crimson Tide staff was down to only 2-3 spots remaining in the top-ranked 2015 class. The prevailing thought regarding Prince was that the left tackle was a priority for UA OL coach Mario Cristobal. In a very surprising development, Eleanor Roosavelt High School head coach Thomas Green revealed today that was not necessarily the case:
The coach said Prince was informed by the UA staff that Alabama stood at 27 commitments and might not have a scholarship available for the elite left tackle. His stepmother, father and stepbrother all accompanied him on the visit. He will now visit national champion Ohio State this coming weekend and in-state (and perceived favorite) Maryland on the 30th. Green was appreciative that Nick Saban and staff were truthful with Prince and his family so the elite prospect did not put himself into a compromising position. The family was unaware of the scholarship situation before the trip and could have rescheduled the visit to Tuscaloosa for the final weekend to see if the the scholarship was available for certain.
Green believes UA may have led going into the weekend official visit and said Prince and the family really enjoyed the weekend trip. He revealed Prince was disappointed that a scholarship may not have been available but would move on to his other top two Ohio State and Maryland. The coach believes his star is a low-maintenance kid with a high upside that will be a natural left tackle on the major college level.
Could this mean that offensive tackle target Chidi Okeke-Valentine’s academics are in better shape than once thought? The word since the Army All-American Bowl has been that the Crimson Tide led Auburn following the departures of OC Mike Bobo (head coach) and OL coach Will Friend (OC) from UGA as both left for Colorado State. Also Alabama has been heavily involved with Memphis, TN, OT Drew Richmond, who canceled his weekend visit to the Capstone and is seemingly solid in his commitment to Ole Miss. Could something have changed? Stay tuned to INTEL for the latest.

Tyrone Wheatley, Junior
2. Top tight end target Tyrone Wheatley Jr., whose father Wheatley, Sr. recently took a position at his alma mater Michigan on Jim Harbaugh’s staff after coaching running backs for the Buffalo Bills, took his official visit to Alabama this past weekend. It was a return trip to Tuscaloosa for the Michigan legacy, who has officially visited USC (December 12th), and has trips planned to UCLA this weekend and Oregon on the 3oth. The above has been his top four. Will he visit Michigan? It could happen but has not been scheduled.
Wheatley really enjoyed the campus in Tuscaloosa and meeting with some of the professors of the Capstone’s renowned business school. The New York Native enjoyed meeting with UA head coach Nick Saban, who told the 6-6 260-pounder whether the preference was tight end or defensive end, the opportunity presented would be his (Wheatley’s) as to which side of the football he chose to begin his career should UA be the choice of the Michigan legacy on signing day. Saban also explained the philosophy of his program in detail.
The real highlight for the elite athlete was the southern hospitality and the people he met, including his player host rising junior tight end Brandon Greene of Ellenwood, Georgia. He also enjoyed interacting with current Crimson Tiders such as junior defensive end Jonathan Allen, and returning senior linebackers Reggie Ragland and Denzell Devall.

Daylon Charlot
2. Patterson, Louisiana, High School coach Chad Blanchard revealed what INTEL reported this weekend: his star wide receiver will not make his decision public until signing day, which should portend good news for the Crimson Tide according to our sources at INTEL. Blanchard shed some light on the pressure from LSU, Charlot’s weekend visit to the Capstone, his future visit plans and his potential as a player:
On in-state pressure From LSU on Charlot and his future visit plans:
“It’s there. There are people always telling him he should go to LSU,” Blanchard admitted. “But I don’t think it’s any different than it is in any other state. I don’t think Daylon is going to be influenced by it. I think he’s going to make the decision that he wants to make and that he feels is the best decision for himself.”
“I think it’s down to Alabama and LSU, but he’s got a couple of more visits scheduled. He’s got Arizona State scheduled, but he may have to cancel it. He’s in the middle of basketball season and he just had hernia surgery, immediately after the Under Armour game,” he continued. “So he’s kind of on the injury list when it comes to basketball. But if he’s cleared to play in the basketball game this weekend, he won’t go to Arizona State. He’s also got a visit scheduled for Miami on the last weekend.”
On Charlot official visit to the Capstone:
“He said he enjoyed it,” Blanchard detailed. “The words that came out of his mouth were, ‘I enjoyed it as usual, coach.’ So he seemed to enjoy it. He had a good time. His family enjoyed it also.”
Charlot, named an Under Armour All-American, had a solid senior season for Patterson High School: 30 receptions for 711 yards for 14 touchdowns.
“He’s a talented kid,” Blanchard stated. “From the first day he walked on our campus in the summer of his eighth grade year, we knew he was talented. We were shocked then at some of the things he could for his age.
“He’s a strong kid. Because of the hernia injury and because he’s been so busy lately, he’s had trouble getting in the weight-room as much as he’d like to, but he gets up to 190 pounds,” the coach continued. “He weighed in at 177 at the Under Armour game, but he plays heavier than that. He’s a low 4.4 to high 4.3 kid. I think he ran a 4.39 at one camp.
“He’s just a phenomenal athlete. He’s a good kid. Always very respectful and he loves to compete. He’s always looking for ways to improve. He wants to do things it takes to get better and better. He practices that way every day. He’s the kind of kid you want in your program.”

4. Helias High School tight end Hale Hentges has been committed to the University of Alabama since May 25th 2014. The Jefferson, Missouri, native, an Under Armour All-American, has been considered solid in his pledge even with in-state Missouri continuing to recruit him very hard. As Hentges said to INTEL following his verbal commitment to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide:
“I have a very high comfort level with my position coach Bobby Williams,” Hentges revealed in May. “We talked every week for almost two to three months. He was always very straight with me, and you don’t always get that with everyone. I always appreciated that.
“Plus, he has done a great job developing players at my position like Michael Williams and Brad Smelley.”
A key factor that attracted Hentges to Alabama was the offensive style of play.
“You know, I wanted to play in a pro-style offense that featured multiple tight ends,” Hentges stated. “”I know that Alabama does that. Coach Williams has shown me that they want to get the tight ends more involved.
He actually showed me some film from spring practices with the tight ends getting more touches and that gave me an idea of how they want to get the tight ends more involved, which was very important.”
Hentges, who caught 67 passes for 981 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior in 2013, had a very strong senior season and believes he will bring a versatile skill set to the Alabama offense starting in 2015.
“The coaches like me as more of an H-Back right now,” Hentges detailed. “But they also like the fact that I am skilled enough to be either (an H-Back or In-Line Tight End).
“I think I will be able to stretch the field really well and I high-point the ball, using my abilities as a basketball player to go up and get the football,” he continued. “I also do a good job blocking and I feel that makes me very valuable and versatile as a player.
“I really need to get faster (clocks a 4.85 in the 40) and more lean,” Hentges admitted. “I want to do a better job with nutrition and improve my overall strength. My blocking also needs to continue to get better.”
Following his two unofficial visits to the University of Alabama, on March 31st and April 16th, Hentges felt very strongly about his decision to choose the University of Alabama. The Show-Me state standout was very comfortable with the coaching staff, and is very excited to be under the tutelage of Bobby Williams and UA head coach Nick Saban.
“I felt at home (after the two visits) and was really sold on the program,” Hentges said. “I am thrilled and honored with the opportunity to play for Coach Bobby Williams and a legendary coach like Nick Saban. I respect the world of them.
“Coach Saban is a really good person and really wants the best for his players,” the elite tight end continued. “He was very welcoming and I am just honored to be given the opportunity to play for a national brand like Alabama. I felt as though as badly as I wanted to go there (UA), they (Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide staff) wanted me there, too.
“I really enjoyed my time spent with the coaches (on his visits),” Hentges further explained. “I visited 15 campuses and Alabama has the best I have ever seen. It is so nice and the fans are really into the football program, which is great. The visits were a really good experience.
“As of right now, my recruitment is over. I don’t plan on taking any other official visits except to Alabama. It is where I want to be and I have found the right place.”
But Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel is not conceding Hentges yet. It was confirmed today that Helias head coach Phil Pitts has been hired to the Missouri staff in a shrewd move by Pinkel. The former Missouri lineman spent the last ten seasons at Helias, starting as an assistant then moving his way up to the Crusaders’ head coaching position in 2011. He took over for Chris Hentges after Hentges stepped down. Pitts took Helias to the state finals in 2012 and 2013, falling to Webb City both on both occasions.
Will this have an effect on Hentges recruitment? It will be something to monitor, though the 6-5 230-pounder has always been a priority for the Tide staff at a need position. Hentges is slated to officially visit Tuscaloosa this weekend, and look for Nick Saban, Bobby Williams and the entire staff to attempt to solidify the elite tight end’s pledge and lock him up to sign with UA on February 4th…stay tuned!

5. Alabama Offensive Line Coach Mario Cristobal was in Birmingham today checking on verbal commitments Christian Bell of Hoover High School and Daron Payne of Shades Valley High School. Each officially visited this past weekend and both are very solid to the University of Alabama. He was also checking in with 2016 prospects such as Hoover Linebacker Jeremiah Moon, who INTEL reported last week would be a huge priority recruit in the 2016 signing class. Moon has ties to the Alabama program as his uncle Darius Gilbert, from Oxford, Alabama, played for linebacker for the Crimson Tide from 1998-2001.

Brandon Greene can fill some kind of a role next season. But that doesnt replace what Hentges can bring.

Oh please, when was the last time our TEs have ever been a real offensive weapon? Idk what it is, we just hate that position for catching passes apparently.

UF is trying their hardest to get back in it with him. They visited him this week. Stampini didn't give any higher percentages than 65.

The coach said Prince was informed by the UA staff that Alabama stood at 27 commitments and might not have a scholarship available for the elite left tackle.
First I only see 26 currently committed to us. So who is the silent. Also Moton, Custis, and possibly Henges & McGraw could be possibilities to go elsewhere or it is being reported they are.
So who is number 27 Charlot seems to be the best choice. Moton and Custis seem to be out. Hopefully CVO and it looks like the staff wants one of Hill, Davis, or Cager who seems to be in a holding pattern. I personally want Charlot and CVO and using the other spot on Wheatly or a FB in this class. Unless CeCe or Cowart want in.
