Does anybody have any specific inquiries about Damien Harris they'd like answered if I can work it into my Neal Brown interview?

I have some general questions about recruiting that would be interesting to hear the coach's perspective:

1.) In general, how long do you think a recruit knows where he is going before he announces, particularly the late announcers (Dec-NSD)? It's a perception among recruitniks that kids know where they are going for awhile, and they are just "trolling" when they expressed interest in the other school. Is that accurate is most cases?

2.) How do you find out who the recruit is leaning towards? Are recruits typically honest with their recruiters about where they are leaning, or does it come from different sources? Is it typically the high school coaches that gives the best info? Parents? Friends?

Bone chat highlights:

*No room for Prince Tega right now, doesn't expect him regardless of offer.
*Still expects Minkah Fitzpatrick to sign with Bama, but there is concern with him contacting schools.
*Lance Thompson doesn't affect any 2015 commits.
*Thinks Bama lands CVO.
*Lawrence Cager will have to wait it out over the next few weeks for an offer.
*Drew Richmond's visit will tell a lot of where he is in Bama's plans.
*Hears Rico McGraw will stick.
*Expects 2-3 more commits.
*Doesn't see any surprise commits.
*Charlot and Cager could both be in the class.
*Predicts Cowart to FSU still, CeCe to UF, and Ivey a toss up between UF and AU.
*Doesn't expect KJ Hill to flip. No room.
*Expects Bama to pick up on Mack Wilson's recruitment at NSD.
*Wouldn' be surprised if Kaden Smith was an early '16 commit.
*Expects Bama to focus on DL, ILB, and Kicker in '16.
*We'll have to see on the status of TD Moton(grades) and Montrell Custis(told to look around).
*Has a good shot at Malik Miller if they show priority.
*Compares Ronnie Harrison's skillset to that of Mark Barron's.
*Thinks Anfernee Jennings will get a 4th star.
*Someone wants to buy him a beer or 12 after the coaching clinic in March.
*Barnett might fall a small bit in the rankings, but expects Harris to rise.
*Charlot waiting for the pressure to die down. Considers him a silent.
*Calls Ben Davis a lock.
*Bama really doesn't greyshirt anymore.
*Compares Mekhi Brown to former Spain Park and UF DE William Green.
*Anfernee Jennings reminds him of Dickson/Devall.
*CV-O will decide sometime this month.
*Vonn Bell went into his official visit as a take, but something caused him to be taken off the list after the visit.

It doesn't blow my mind. There obviously was a legit reason that we didn't take him. Who knows what it was, but it was something.

Meh geno smith played great at FS when HCD was suspended by ncaa. Him and Hootie with being Thompson along will be fine. Remember hootie was an EE last year. He's been here for a while. Thompson is an EE as well which is huge. Geno is a vet and I like him as a center fielder rather than cover guy.

Van Jefferson, current UGA WR commit, was on a podcast earlier. He's convinced that Rico is flipping to them. TIFWIW.

Was he injured this year? He didn't do much, but I don't remember hearing about him being hurt. This year, nobody could handle the fs spot.

He said earlier today, presumably before the offer, that it was Bama or Miami. Not considering any other teams.

He said he'll try to visit them on the 30th, but seeing that he has said he has a track meet, I don't see how.

Need his spot, especially if (and this is what it looks like) Reed is staying and of course we got J Taylor and a commitment from Payne

Steele left for a better job whether he was told to "look around" is unsure. He most def was putting out feelers though and basically busted LSUs door down trying to get that job. LT was told to look around, heard Saban wanted some off fields promoted (prob mainly Tosh who I'm sure was tired of his non coaching job) before they left.

Tosh to OLBs looks close to happening...not sure whether Saban will look at replacing Steele's position at ILB or move Kirby to that position. Gonna be interesting to see what that decision is. Watch for Niblett's name to gain some traction.

Mag I asked yesterday about Jones at OM and was told he wants an interview if that position comes open, waiting to see, but he's not gonna be an easy pull since Freeze will try to get him more money to stay, but being his alma mater helps in our case of course

Asked also about Cooper and was told it would take a lot of others to say "no" or stay at current positions which made me

Staff has 3 more they want to commit for sure before NSD, room will be made but that of course was in Bone's chat TY Mag for sharing.

Gonna be a roller coaster before then, staff wants all the DBs they can get I personally hope we hold on to Rico first and foremost. This weekend will tell staff where they stand with a lot of guys. Might have a full class numbers wise by the end of next week.

Thank You everyone for all your hard work and input into this thread

Mr Tide I'm jealous of you getting to interview I'd just like to know important the mental aspect of the game at RB is to Damien (like watching film studying the playbook etc) and how he feels it helps him as a player?

Also what RB did he look up to and taylor himself after growing up?

I know I felt the same Chad, I love the way he's taken athletes at LSU and even Tampa (who even had a decent probably the best secondary with the worst roster in the League at those positions, since the Gruden era) and helps them develop their skillset. That is where I feel like our team is right now, a lot of the guys that played this yr were under the athlete category in HS and still all of them seemed raw to a certain degree. I also have heard before he may not be the best interviewee and is a bit shy and guarded but in my mind his coaching at that position speaks for itself.

Saban and Bo Davis will make in-home visits to Lester Cotton (long trip ) and Kendall Sheffield tomorrow.

Saban and Cristobal will make an in-home visit to Minkah Fitzpatrick on Monday.

Napier and Cristobal are scheduled to visit Ridley and SBB early next week. They will check in with Darnell "The Phone Thief" Salomon as well.
