It's easy to turn your back and give up on someone that presents a challenge. It's much more difficult to rehabilitate that person and attempt changing them for the better.
It was not UA that showed him the door so are we criticizing UGA for turning their back. Why it is our program that needs to rehabilitate these young men when they fail. He had an opportunity to come to UA first but picked UGA over us. So now he is getting 2 more chances by our staff. We were not his original choice but yet he is ready to come here now because he is an outcast.
And no we should not have to give strict guidelines for behavior, these players should understand the golden ticket they were given with the opportunity the moment they signed the NLI.
We have kicked players off for so called behavioral issues(no arrest reported), players that were not contributing but overlook someone like this because we feel they can contribute.
As another stated he only given the chance because of his football potential nothing more. Call it like it is and stop defending we do it because we care. If that is the case no one would have been kicked off our team.

Do you think that if I were arrested and fired from my job that I would get an offer from a better company less than a year later? No, because I'm not a football player.
apparently you're not a catholic priest molesting kids either... but the exact scenario you describe minus being arrested happened thousands of times worldwide. if you're scoring at home molesting kids is infinitely worse than beating a bitch... AND the roman catholic church has a much higher moral authority than UA. we'll be fine. then again i signed my athletic scholarship with a criminal record, so i may be biased.

We don't do it because we need to, we do it because we want to. Its not like this is a big trend. Its happened, what, twice, in 8 years? Sure, 2 times within a year, but its not like we are seeking these guys out.

Link? I honestly can't remember us ever really "kicking" someone off of the team.

I mean, obviously that has something to do with it, but that is a pretty obvious point.

Three times in a year if you count TFS

You can't even really count that, the guy got caught with some weed.

That was his 2nd incident. Prior to that he had been arrested for filing a false police report to cover up the fact he sold his textbooks instead of turning them back in. Not saying it's the same thing but I thought you were questioning whether or not it was becoming a trend for Bama to take the cast-offs from other programs.

I hear ya, I see what you are saying.

@AndrewJBone: The final day for early enrollment at #Alabama is Jan 14. Calvin Ridley is still waiting on final word.

Would Ohio State accept a verbal commitment from five-star running back Damien Harris of Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern at this point? That's the $1 million question.

"These guys all did something," Mr. Saban continued, without elaborating. "It doesn't make them bad people.…These guys didn't do what they were supposed to do here, whether it was for academic reasons or whatever. They're not going to be part of the program."
Talking about Preyear, Hall, and Lawerence. And there are many more. Hell a whole site was dedicated to Saban processing players due to over signing.
Again they all did not contribute so no chance to redeem. In the end it does not matter and many others names can be added to that list. It is all about winning and the university has committed to winning. And yes maybe in the end Saban does correct this kid's path and makes him a better man but it will not change my stance.

Can somebody list or link me to who all we have visiting and the dates before NSD?

Saban said: “Guy makes a mistake. Where do you want them to be? You want him to be in the street or do you want them to be here graduating?”
Let me say it....I'll take the graduate and not have to experience the "economics" of another person who is a life-long offender costing me my TAX dollars, locked up in the prison system. Somebody could give the guy another chance to focus.... and get life right. Look what Walt tried to do for Pinkman.(JK)
I'm glad Saban saw a person with potential; someone he thinks HE can make a difference with by encouraging him to be the BEST he can be and change his life direction before it's too late.

Minkah, Cotton, and Thompson should all be 5 stars, but that's just my opinion.

We got two CBs for Damien Harris this afternoon.
One from a Kentucky writer and one from a Louisville writer.

Where can we watch his announcement? And what time is it? 12:15 or 1:15? Something like that.
