Xzavier Dickson top 20 in the nation in sacks. 3rd in the SEC behind Ray for Mizzou and Garrett for aTm. Dickson has 7 sacks

Dickson this year has reminded me a lot of Courtney Upshaw his junior year

we may not have room for much more when you look at the 85

It's the attention whore theorem. The higher the player is ranked and the later they announce, the bigger the spectacle their recruiting and subsequent announcement becomes. There are few exceptions, but generally this proves to be true.
We are pursuing a lot of highly ranked recruits at this time, so the attention whore theorem applies here

Anybody think we have a chance with Johnny Frasier?
Posted on 11/13/14 at 9:19 am to Rizzy
A couple people on TSWSNBN seem to think we have a shot, but I don't know how confident they are.

These two and John Broussard need to commit before next season. Start the defense dream team off right

We apparently have no interest in Brousard. LSU his presumed #1, has slow played him also.

Lots of time left. I would hate to see LSU get a good player from right up the road from me. I would love to see us get the top players in the state again.

Depends on how they handle it this weekend, no better time than any to make a move. Some believe FSU doesn't expect him to stick, and it looks like UT may have moved on.
It's scary that he doesn't have a lot of football experience, but he's supposedly an a great athlete. Bone compares him to a Lacy/Richardson, whereas he likened Harris to Ingram.
I'd prefer either at this point, since Guice really doesn't look like an option...

One thing Harris has that Ingram doesn't is elite top end speed. He could be a monster with the right coaching.

The 2015 seniors as a whole are a top heavy class of QBs and DEs/OLBs. Weak RB class, mediocre OL, ok DT class, ok WR class (if it weren't for ridley and UT WR it would suck) ok DB class, AWFUL ILB class

College football expert and magazine publisher Phil Steele was on the ESPN College Football Betting Spreecast and gave his thoughts on the big matchup between Alabama and Mississippi State.
"I talked to the head guy at the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, Jay Kornegay and I always ask, 'who's the number one team in Vegas?' Alabama is the number one team in Vegas and they're at home. They've played in the big games before. I understand the 8 point spread. Ironically though, it's almost like Alabama can feel like an underdog here, because they're not even in the top four of the committee's vote and Mississippi State comes in at number one. So, Bama with one loss and Mississippi State undefeated. I don't think players pay any attention at all to the Las Vegas spread. There may be Bama players that feel like they're the underdog in this game, since they're lower ranked and they also have a loss," said Steele.
Steele broke down what he likes about both teams.
"When I look at Alabama, it's highly unusual. Generally with Alabama, they're great at home and great on the road. And this year, the defense is just like that. The defense is almost identical statistically home and away, among the best in the country. But when you look at them offensively, they're two different teams. With Blake Sims on the road, they've been struggling. At home, however, they've had two SEC games so far and they're averaging 637 yards of offense. They're averaging 250 yards of offense more at home than they are on the road. It seems like they open the playbook a little more, work Amari Cooper into the lineup, which opens up the run game, and they're a much more efficient team. So the fact that Alabama gets this game at home is big. Another factor in their favor is the experience level. Alabama's been in big games before. Mississippi State has had a streak coming into this season, where they haven't played well in big games. And I know earlier this year, they went into Death Valley and actually beat LSU, much easier than Alabama did. In fact, they led that game 34-10, but keep in mind, when that game happened, it was a young LSU team in just their fourth game and Mississippi State wasn't even ranked at the time. So it's not like LSU was getting all hyped up for Mississippi State. This is a team that they've beaten for 15 straight years and wasn't even ranked. I think they just came in and outplayed LSU. And now in this situation, everyone's interviewing Mississippi State, they've got more pressure on their back, they're in an unusual situation where there's so much national spotlight on them. Meanwhile for Alabama, it's another home game this week. Yeah, it's the number one team in the country, but I think they're more used to it. All those factors go into Alabama's favor this week.
"Things I like about Mississippi State- first of all they have an excellent defensive front seven. You look at the talent they have on that defensive front seven, they have a solid rush defense and that's basically what you want to have when you take on Alabama. Also, they've got some guy at quarterback, Dak Prescott, he's a Heisman candidate. He can hurt you running and passing. They've got Josh Robinson to hand off to, a big veteran offensive line that's opening up holes for about 5.5 yards per carry this year. So this is a dangerous Mississippi State team that has pass three big tests in a row. They knocked off LSU on the road in Death Valley, they knocked off Auburn, and of course they knocked off A&M, when A&M was ranked in the top ten earlier in the year. Add it all up, and they've passed every test. They have a balanced offense with a Heisman candidate at quarterback, they have an outstanding defensive front seven."
Steele added that he sees a double-digit victory for the Tide.
"I'm going to go with Alabama in this game. For the reasons I mentioned earlier. I also like the matchup here. If you're watching for a player to really watch this weekend, keep your eyes on Amari Cooper. This is a Mississippi State secondary that's giving up 300 yards per game passing. I think Amari Cooper has a big game and might himself become one of the prime Heisman candidates if he gets behind that secondary. Especially if Mississippi State feels the need to sneak a safety up in the box to stop that potent Alabama rush attack- I think you're gonna see Amari Cooper running free in the secondary. So, I expect a big game from Amari Cooper. I see Alabama winning this one 34-17."
The Tide and Bulldogs kick off at 2:30 PM CT from Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. The game is televised by CBS.

When: Saturday, Nov. 15; 3:30 p.m. ET
Last meeting: T.J. Yeldon ran for 160 yards in Alabama's 20-7 win at Mississippi State in November 2013.
What to Watch for
Mississippi State (9-0, 5-0 SEC) now seems to have a stranglehold on the top spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, with one-loss Oregon sliding ahead of unbeaten Florida State for No. 2. But that advantage only exists as long as the Bulldogs keep winning, and now comes arguably their toughest stretch this season—which is a notable phrase considering they had that run earlier this season playing (and beating) three straight Top 10 teams.
Playing in Tuscaloosa is a different story, though. MSU hasn't won there since 2006, and in the three games there since, it's lost the "90 Mile Drive" by an average of 25.3 points per game. It's part of the reason MSU is an underdog in this game, despite being No. 1.
"Every article you read, everywhere you look, we're the big underdog in this game," coach Dan Mullen said told The Associated Press (h/t Fox Sports). "We've done that before and we know that role. We'll be OK with that. Our guys will play with great effort and with a chip on our shoulder that we try to play with every week no matter what the rankings or what everyone else is predicting."
The game plan will be simple and involve a lot of Dak Prescott doing what he's done all year with his legs and his arm. Prescott, a major Heisman candidate, has 3,010 yards of total offense and has tallied 29 touchdowns. His 779 rushing yards and 11 TD have resulted in frequent comparisons to Tim Tebow, and that is the kind of quarterbacks that Alabama has struggled with over the years.
Alabama (8-1, 5-1) had no answer for Johnny Manziel the past two years, with the then-redshirt freshman orchestrating a surprise upset of the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa in 2012. That's the last time Alabama has lost at home, and since then, it has won 13 straight by an average of 39.1 points, with seven shutouts.
The Tide are coming off a huge overtime win at LSU and, despite currently sitting outside the semifinals, are in total control of their own destiny. Win out—which would mean knocking off the No. 1 team, as well as Auburn—and take the SEC title game, and the Tide no doubt will be in the playoffs, possibly even the top seed. Lose here, though, and not only would the West Division be out the window but likely a shot at another title, too.
A lot of the stats between the teams are even, except for one: MSU ranks 123rd in the country in pass defense, which means odds are Lane Kiffin will call a bevy of plays to exploit that and knock off the SEC's last unbeaten team.
Prediction: Alabama 30, Mississippi State 24

Bleacher Report is also predicting that Georgia will beat Auburn and Texas A&M will beat Missouri.
