Oh, I have no expectations of actually landing him. I'm not crazy. It's huge to even get players like that on campus for us though.

I'm hoping UK becomes a force in the east. Especially if it comes at the expense of the Vols. Anything to stick it to the corpse of Fat Phil.

They won't. Even though they had a top 20 class, it still won't make that much of a difference being that 8 other teams in the SEC had classes ranked higher and have had top 20 classes the past 6 cycles. The only way it would help Kentucky is that they string together 4 more top 20 classes, then they will be a 7-5 team

5 consecutive top 20 classes and they could easily be a 9 win team every year, especially if they are well coached.

True, but if the teams you are facing are continuously doing the same and pulling in better classes then how much ground are they truly gaining? (This is assuming all other variables remain constant, i.e. coaching, development, etc.}

I am thinking Payne's recruitment will be a real shite show a la Evans. I hope I am wrong, and he commits to bama early, but I just don't see it.

He's the in-state kid I'm going to take personal this cycle. He's the best DT our state has produced in a decade and he's from a feeder school just up the road.

We need him. He could be a more developed Dareus.

yep, one thing Saban's D hasn't had at all (and lets face it Dareus was silent a good chunk of his career as well) is the ability to pressure with 3. Faster 1 Gap DT's (Robinson Payne) playing our DE role (especially strongside) will go a long way toward this.

Per Geaux247, Daylon Charlot did not show up at the "Boys from the Boot" event.

No show = must not love his state, ie traitor
Show = trolling LSU, ie traitor

Either way, "don't like the way he handled his recruitment"

This will be spun in the future to...

"He wasn't good enough for an LSU offer"

- Alabama > You

"Saban offered the scrub only for his future teammate(s)"

- Just like you offered that scrub 2014 DE from Texas for his 2015 OT brother?

"We never wanted him, there are way better WR out there...."

- Sure even though you're going to end up taking receivers ranked lower than him by every recruiting service, just like last year with Cam Sims.
