- If Edoga was 1A on the day, Alabama commit Lester Cotton made a strong case for 1B. The Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Central top 100 offensive guard won nearly all of his reps and lined up at both guard and tackle. Cotton is extremely physical and showed off his patented strength and strong punch off the line.

quote:

Another Alabama commit, Dallas Warmack had what was perhaps his best camp showing to date and didn't lose a rep that we saw, including going 4 for 4 against touted defensive tackles Daron Payne and Breiden Fehoko. Warmack, who is the brother of top ten NFL draft pick Chance Warmack, worked at both guard and center on the day

- All three Alabama commits- Cotton, Warmack, and Richie Petitbon had very good days and lived up to the hype. The Crimson Tide look to have yet another talented group of interior linemen in the 2015 cycle.

Alabama commit Calvin Ridley was, in a word, ridiculous today. He's about as physically gifted as any player in the country and today he really stood out among a lot of excellent wideouts.

it's crazy because i dont think he's what most would consider a physical freak. 6'0 170, 4.5 speed; reading that on paper is not gonna make anybody think twice about him. But he sure shows out on the field.

When asked about the status of his commitment to UGA, Godwin said his recruitment is going all the way to February.

Elite 11: Alabama commitment behind him, Blake Barnett looks to improve

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- There's been a lot for Blake Barnett to take in at the Elite 11 quarterback competition.

There's been the instruction from NFL and college quarterbacks. There's been the use of high-end technology as a teaching aid. There's been a peer group of similarly high-end high school quarterbacks to share his experience with.

"It's been an awesome experience," said the Corona, Calif. native, who's ranked as the nation's No. 3 dual-threat quarterbacks in the 247 composite rankings. "I've met great people, great quarterbacks and it's been awesome to compete with them.

"It's been a great time. It's been awesome getting classroom work in on the board and we even have technology to help us with our reads, too. We're getting work in, on the field and off."

One thing not clouding Barnett's efforts is questions about his future.

When he was named MVP of the Los Angeles Regional Elite 11, he was still committed to Notre Dame. That changed a little more than a month ago when he decommitted, then reopened his search, eventually choosing Alabama on June 18.

Having the commitment behind him has allowed him to get the most out of the Elite 11 experience, he said.

"A lot of the kids who aren't committed yet, they are worried about interviews and questions," Barnett said. "It can get them sidetracked from what your overall goal is, which is to do your best to compete.

"It's nice to stay focused."

Barnett drew a lot of focus with his play, particular on Sunday's first day of the competition. While big and strong-armed, what stood out most about Barnett was a steady demeanor that led to consistent performance. He threw accurate balls and seemed to make the right throw on most plays.

While he did miss on some throws Monday, it was clear that the overall impression he left over the two days was a positive one.

Alabama currently has the top-rated recruiting class for 2015, but there are a few spots left.

One spot Alabama is hoping to fill is with 5-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson. Jefferson, the No. 4-rated prospect on the 247Sports composite rankings, announced that he was visiting Alabama on July 17.

Change of plans! Im going to Alabama on the 17th!

-- Ivan Drago (@cecejeferson7) July 7, 2014
Jefferson, who is from Glen St. Mary, Fla., is the highest-rated strong side defensive end.

Jefferson visited Alabama this spring and said back in April that he would use his second official visit on Alabama. He is being recruited by Lance Thompson and Bo Davis.

Jefferson is viewed as a heavy Florida lean on the 247Sports Crystal Ball. Florida State also appears to be in the mix.

my hatred for FSU is approaching Auburn levels. I think they've overtaken LSU on my shite list. But with Pruitt and Craig gone who is their ace recruiter?

You guys had to know that he would waver. Remember he didn't even want to come to Bama at first it was Burgess who was in love with us.

Let's see what kinda otherwise obvious stuff they included this time...

-It's cool that Barnett/Ridley are together with some other targets on Team Apocalypse
-DID YOU KNOW: we're recruiting Jacques Patrick
-Ditto Kendall Sheffield and Deontay Anderson. AND GET THIS, these East Texas prospects have at some point mentioned something resembling a package deal with our other east Texas secondary members
-Richie Petitbon knows other DMV recruits, like Josh Sweat and Matt Burrell
-Matt Burrell's dad, a noted fashionista, liked Petitbon's dad's Bama hat
-We're recruiting Daron Payne. You'll never guess, but we're recruiting him very hard, and he likes Cristobal
-Our recruits look good at The Opening, including Minkah Fitzpatrick

Unfortunately I see him flipping. I have never felt like he would stay with us. Maybe Coop can keep him on board, but I wouldn't surprise me if he flips. The thing about FSU is that they can't keep any good coaches because they can't pay them. The ACC is being propped up by ESPN. ESPN played a lot into them not folding as a conference, starting with purposely collapsing the Big East and steering ND to the ACC instead of the Big 12

well those kids will probably be undisciplined this year and lose a few games they probably shouldnt. Plus if Jameis doesnt go to prison, he'll go pro after this year (i dont care what his daddy says).
