Denzel Mitchell moved back to my neck of the woods. I may have to go see him play.

Someone on BOL was saying that the Warchant (FSU rivals) is saying that we lead for Jacques Patrick. I don't subscribe to rivals, and I know this is third hand information, so take it for what it's worth.

College quarterback stars of the future will converge in Beaverton, Oregon, this July as another edition of Elite 11 competition comes to a close. A group of 18 finalists earned the chance to emerge as the best of the bunch in a national showcase.

We tossed out the star ratings and focused on game film to rank each contender.

From celebrated commits to late-rising recruits still searching for offers, here's a look at who is aiming for a shot at stardom in an event that once featured Andrew Luck, Jameis Winston, Tim Tebow and Matthew Stafford.

School: Santiago High School

Size: 6'3.5", 195 pounds

Recruitment Status

Blake Barnett altered the recruiting landscape in June when he decommitted from Notre Dame. Just two weeks after ending his seven-month verbal pledge, Barnett joined Alabama's top-ranked class.

How He Earned Spot in Finals

California quarterbacks kept Elite 11 coaches busy throughout this cycle and Barnett picked up his ticket to Beaverton after the Los Angeles regional. He's a unique talent who can do damage with his arm and legs.

Barnett threw for 2,322 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2013. He also rushed for 695 yards and 13 scores in 10 games.

What to Watch For at Elite 11

Barnett didn't become a starter until last season but he quickly burst onto the scene as a national recruit. He's an outstanding athlete who can fire the football with precision while rolling out.

His footwork remained a work in progress in 2013 but he could provide a glimpse of what's coming this fall with a polished performance in Beaverton. Many thought he'd end up in the state as an Oregon Duck upon his decommitment from the Fighting Irish.

@AdamSchefter 35s
Interrupt soccer for this: Dallas traded 6th-rd pick for LB Rolando McClain and Baltimore's 7th-rd pick, per source. McClain wants to play.

He would be much better off in Baltimore, Dallas is asking for trouble with his past.

Ian Cuevas went HAM on the 2016 CBs today. He predicted all of these players to Alabama:

Benito Jones
Jeremiah Moon
Kaden Smith
Richard Merritt
Denzell Mitchell
Shyheim Carter
Ben Davis
Mack Wilson

He also CB'd Willie Allen and John Broussard to LSU, Marlon Davidson to Auburn and KJ Costello to Stanford.
