Oh well. Look for Oregon to offer Waller soon.

We're not even in his top group. His top 3 are Ohio State, Oregon, and USC. Ohio State is the leader at this point according to Waller

Just saw that.

So USC, with two QBs committed, is in his Top 2. Either this kid is really dumb or he has bowling balls for nuts.

Yesterday, Ohio State picked up a pledge from four-star in-state prospect Joe Burrow. The impact on Waller is negligible.

"Ohio State is the favorite," Waller said Wednesday afternoon. "They told me I'm their No. 1 guy and they want to take two quarterbacks. If I commit there I'm not worried about (Burrow)."

Which schools round out his current lead group?

"Oregon and USC," Waller said.

All three programs are evaluating, but have yet to offer. There is speculation that the Ducks could be next (they were the runner-up for Murray), and they have been showing high interest of late.
?Obviously, it’s not a lay-up, though.

“I feel like they are using me as their ‘last resort,’” Waller said.

Alabama, Cal, Northwestern, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Fresno State, Maryland, Ole Miss, Penn State and Washington State have offered.

Which program does he prefer among that group?

“Northwestern, Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt,” Waller said.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball currently reads 89 percent for the Ducks in the chase for Waller's services.

A few visits could be on deck before making a decision, likely before the summer is out.

“After I talk to Ohio State I could still possibly visit there,” Waller said. “And Oregon again to take another look... possibly.”

Seems like Waller is really wanting to stay on the west coast.

With elite arms getting snatched up left and right, we take a stab at where the remaining arms land in the wake of the Murray decision.

Oregon – The Ducks finally offer Travis Waller, a move many in the recruiting industry expected months ago. Waller accepts and finally fulfills the experts’ Crystal Ball which has been largely in favor of Oregon throughout his recruitment. (Recent comments from Waller to Ryan Bartow already add doubt to this scenario)

Northwestern – With Waller off the board, that leaves two offers out for Northwestern: Sam Darnold and Jason Pellerin, both big athletic upside guys. With Pellerin set to visit Northwestern in the coming days and Darnold’s star still on the rise, Pellerin pulls the trigger for the Wildcats with Darnold waiting for more.

Ohio State - Waller could also spurn Oregon and pick Ohio State, giving the Buckeyes their two quarterbacks. They would then likely bow out of the Torrance Gibson race and Oregon would likely turn its attention to Darnold (if it hadn't already).

Florida – With Florida searching for an athletic trigger-man in Kurt Roper’s offense, the Gators lock up California four-star Sheriron Jones following his June 7 visit to Gainesville.

Florida State – With Florida moving on Jones, Florida State holds off a surging Auburn to get a summer commitment from IMG Academy four-star Deondre Francois.

Auburn – Auburn is starting a show some momentum in the Francois race but a commitment to Florida State could redirect Auburn towards four-star athlete Kai Locksley. Already Auburn has locked up a safe quarterback in Tyler Queen so a more raw but athletic prospect like Locksley is less of a gamble at the quarterback position.

Tennessee – If we assume Auburn lands Locksley, lets also assume that five-star Torrance Gibson’s favorites stay consistent and Tennessee lands him in the winter. But Tennessee wants a second quarterback to partner with Gibson (a third if you include four-star athlete Jauan Jennings). Can Sam Darnold out of San Clemente, Calif. be that guy? Tennessee likes him but when the dust settles, Darnold may end up being the next quarterback to see a run on offers.

Alabama – Since the decommitment of Ricky Town, Alabama hasn’t been overly aggressive on the recruiting trail with quarterbacks in 2015. If we assume Travis Waller ends up at Oregon, that leaves the Tide with no realistic uncommitted targets at the quarterback position. With another strong year for passers in 2016, Alabama may just opt to position itself to land five-star Jacob Eason with a favorable depth chart.
