Must be the case. But, when he left, the comments by both Walsh and Lucky made it sound like he was doing something entirely unrelated. Guess they made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

I'm glad he's still writing though. I have always enjoyed his work.

2016 quarterback Jack Allison (Palmetto, Fla./Palmetto) claims an offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound pro-style quarterback is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and the No. 96 overall player in the country for 2016. He checks in as the No. 4 pro-style quarterback and the 14th-best player in Florida.

Recent offers for Allison besides Alabama include UCF, Miami (Fla.), Tennessee and USF.

247Sports talked with a sources regarding the recruitment of Saint Paul (Minn.) Cretin Derham Hall five-star defensive lineman Jashon Cornell on Tuesday.

Still like Michigan State and Notre Dame for Cornell, but a source says the rest of the fluid top five is currently Miami, Penn State and UCLA.

Ole Miss was the one SEC school Cornell was originally feeling, but last week's Alabama offer makes the Crimson Tide a must visit per a source. They are the only SEC program that is a true contender at this point.

Another California swing is in the works, with UCLA as the favorite if Cornell were to go out West. Stanford, Cal and USC will also get a visit when it gets put together.

Cornell named the Spartans his leader in April and Notre Dame has always been considered one of his top schools, however one source keeps saying he thinks it will be ND in the end.

Rated by the 247Sports Composite as the country's No. 3 weak-side defensive end, Cornell recently told 247Sports he wants to decide on Aug. 28.

Bo will need to take one class and pass in June in order to qualify. The plan right now is for him to enroll in July if all goes according to plan.

No excuse for a kid to not be able to pass a HS course, especially with the opportunity in front of him.

TideSaint, how confident on you on Waller? Does he have to camp before solidifying the offer or is he good to go.

Right now? Not very confident.

If Kyler Murray commits to Oregon tomorrow I think out shot at Waller increases dramatically.

He is the only uncommitted QB that could commit to us without coming to camp first.

We got a CB for Daron Payne a few minutes ago.

In sad CB news, someone put one in for Waller to Oregon after the Burrow news.

Looks like we will end up with six of the top ten, potentially seven if Keaton Anderson gets a Bama bu... I mean has a good senior season.

Not bad.

I just don't see how we can take Keaton Anderson with so much elite talent left on the board at other positions of need.

I've watched his tape and I admit he is pretty impressive, but I'd much rather use his spot on another D-Lineman or CB.

I remember thinking the same thing about Holcombe last year. Somehow it all worked out.

Yeah but two years ago we took Parker McLeod and Vonn Bell got shut out due to a lack of available scholarships.

McLeod's arse rented space on the bench for one damn season that a 5-star DB could still be occupying.

I'm just glad I finally don't have to feel bad at thinking McLeod was a complete waste of a scholly. Some people just didn't take kind to that.

It didn't make much sense at the time either. Hell, our long snapper signee caught more flak than McLeod and he'll probably be an All-Pro in the NFL when it's all said and done.

Alabama- Daron Payne, DT, Birmingham (Ala.) Shades Valley- Payne, the No. 1 overall prospect in the Yellowhammer State for the 2015 cycle, is an in-state battle between the Crimson Tide and Auburn, which has been red-hot both with in-state prospects and head-to-head with its archrival of late. Landing Payne, the No. 17 overall prospect in the cycle per 247Sports Composite rankings, suddenly is a big deal for Alabama whereas before it may have been a foregone conclusion. He’s a great player at the high school level and a big-time prospect.
