Bucknuts/247Sports has learned that Warren (Oh.) Harding OL James Daniels has been offered by Alabama today.

Ohio State, Iowa, Auburn, and Michigan State were at the top of the list for the three-star center (who can also play guard), but word is the Crimson Tide will join that group now that they have extended a scholarship.

Daniels is the son of former Ohio State offensive lineman LeShun Daniels Sr., and the brother of Iowa running back LeShun Daniels Jr.

While he has ties to the Buckeyes and Hawkeyes, he is willing to march to the beat of his own drummer and I would not be surprised to see him visit Tuscaloosa in the near future.

Alabama running backs coach Burton Burns stopped by Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek this morning, to check on Top247 RB Eric Swinney and 2016 Top247 OL Chandler Tuitt. Burns arrived shortly after Swinney committed to Ole Miss, and told the staff at Sandy Creek they hoped Swinney would keep his options open, and that they looked forward to getting Tuitt on campus soon.
Interestingly enough, Burns headed from there to Georgia Military College to check on 5-star juco RB Jovon Robinson, who committed to Auburn yesterday. Burns is not giving up on Robinson, a guy that most feel will be a one-and-done feature back in college.

Petal (Miss.) OL Javon Patterson has named a top five, with Alabama making the cut for the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder along with other SEC programs.
“I have a top five, in no order, of Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and [Mississippi] State,” Patterson told 247Sports' Keith Niebuhr. “All of them are recruiting me equally hard."
The 4-star has visits set to Auburn and Florida within the next month. His Crystal Ball currently points towards the in-state Rebels, who hold 71% of the 14 picks, with Mississippi State accounting for two picks, and Alabama and Auburn with one each.

It has been a great week for Buford (Ga.) 2016 defensive tackle Benjamin Frazier. The 6-foot-3, 320-pound rising junior says Alabama offered Tuesday morning, then Tennessee offered Tuesday afternoon. Then on Thursday, Georgia and LSU offers came after practice. Georgia Tech, Miami and Vanderbilt have also offered. Frazier says that right now the offer from LSU stands out, along with the offer from Tennessee. He admits he is not really too big on any school just yet though.

BOL depth chart had him there, basically bc he is our 6th man right now and if we were playing this weekend and Kelly got hurt I think he would be the guy. I'm holding out some serious hope for the OL this year. Bone said in his recruiting chat the other night he could easily see Dom Jackson take the RG spot and he will be hard to keep off the field. I could live with Crob/Arie/Kelly/DJ/Shep from left to right with Hill possibly taking the LG spot or staying on Arie's arse.

Birmingham (Ala.) Shades Valley five-star defensive tackle Daron Payne tells me LSU offered him today. The 6-foot-3, 330-pound rising senior is the No. 1 prospect in Alabama, No. 4 defensive tackle in the country and No. 14 prospect in the 2015 class according to the 247Sports Composite. Payne maintains that Alabama is recruiting him the hardest, but that Auburn, Florida State and Texas are also on him. Summer trips to Texas, Florida State and LSU are possibilities. The Crystal Ball heavily favors Alabama, with 35 of 36 predictions in favor of the Crimson Tide.

So apparently Josh McMillon was going to release a top 8 or top ten, but decided to only release three of them (in no particular order, of course)

This year in recruiting there seems to be a lot more top ten or fifteens released. Attention whores.

Sad thing is he will probably end up at Bama

If you truly have a top 10/15 you should just release a list that says: "I currently have no fricking clue. Thanks for following me on Twitter though. Isn't this Michael Sam stuff great! Wow this global warming may be a drag."

Typically I stop hating them when they commit to the Tide. But with like, C.J. Hampton I hope he gets AIDS from some whore in Oxford.

Agreed. Thompson is one of the best free safeties to come out since HaHa IMO. Might have been wearing my crimson glasses with that conclusion.

Not Bama related, but I found this funny.

quote:

College writes recruiting letter to a cat owned by QB prospect
Rice University came up with a creative way to catch the attention of a top football prospect.
This week, Rice co-offensive coordinator Billy Lynch, sent a recruiting letter to a … cat.
This is a true story.
The cat is owned by Texas quarterback J.T. Granato, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Joseph Duarte.
So Rice sent a letter addressed to “Kitty” Granato. Here’s what Lynch wrote:
“As you know we’re trying to convince J.T. Rice is the place for him. I know you’d like to keep him close so he can feed you and change the litter box. Please help us to get him to choose us. Paw me if you have any questions.”
If you thought this was some kind of cat and mouse act, think again. Curiosity must’ve killed the cat because … it worked.
On Thursday night, Granato let the cag out of the bag by committing to Rice.

ETA: Solid editing by the AJC.

Combine that with a force at SS in Hootie Jones, and that's a deadly duo in a couple of years.

The difference between Hass and Casher is Casher's arm length and upper body strength. Hass is a lot more of a large body that can withstand adding muscle and move over to G and Casher likely sticks at OC I think. Hass has better feet and pulls better and Casher is ridiculously strong in his upper body

Apples and Oranges to me, Casher may be short but he is a great athlete, just needs some time to bulk and get bigger
