Alabama has turned up the heat on Top247 TE Jackson Harris, the Columbia (Tenn.) Central prospect tells BOL. Jackson holds a top five of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Clemson, and Vanderbilt and is eyeing a June decision.

"I really like the opportunity for early playing time at Alabama. They didn't sign a tight end in 2014 and they are thin at they Y-position. They also win all of the time and have great facilities," he said.

Jackson plans to visit Tuscaloosa in early June before he decides and didn't rule out making a commitment on the trip, should be blown away. UGA leads in his Crystal Ball, holding 79% of the picks.

So who gets left out between Hentges, Clarington and Gragg if Harris commits?

I think Gragg.

Who will be the next quarterback to see his stock soar nationally?

The Plains (Ohio) Athens four-star signal-caller Joe Burrow is a good bet.

Already rated by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 12 dual-threat passer, which could be on the quick uptick as well, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Burrow has added 20 pounds to his frame since last summer and has seen offers come in from the likes of Boston College, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, N.C. State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Alabama or Ohio State among the next programs to extend a scholarship to Burrow. Both have been in this spring and have given Athens head coach Ryan Adams positive feedback. Burrow made it back to Columbus during the spring. Crimson Tide assistant coach Bobby Williams watched Burrow throw on Tuesday.

“I think Coach Williams will take his report back to Coach (Nick) Saban and sit down and have a discussion,” Adams said.

“The main thing that caught Bobby’s eye was the physical presence that (Joe) has. I think a lot of people hear 6-4 and this, that and the other, but until you can put eyes on him and see how big he is, the question is still in the back of your mind. He’s truly that. He’s starting to impress people with that physical look.”

The tape has always impressed.

As a sophomore, Burrow emerged as a quarterback to watch, throwing for 3,239 yards and 47 touchdowns while adding another 836 yards rushing and 13 scores. This past season, Burrow threw for 3,732 yards and 47 touchdowns, while adding another 589 yards rushing and nine scores.

Yeah some of the responses from the Ohio State guys say that he plays against horrible competition. None of them want him.

Athens is where OU is. So the population is drunk college kids and west virgianesque hillbillies. Not exactly an athletic hotbed.

Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal will be by Woodbridge (Va.) Hylton later today to see top 100 offensive lineman Matthew Burrell according to sources close to the situation. Now that most of the Tide staff has covered their respective territories, they're doubling back and scouting top prospects at their positions.

Burrell has seen his stock continue to rise this spring, following a standout showing at the D.C. NFTC in April. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder most recently visited Ohio State and plans to get to Alabama this offseason. The Buckeyes currently hold the majority of the picks in his Crystal Ball.

The 2014 Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour was an unqualified, off-the-charts success in its second year with top prospects from around the nation competing at 16 different locations across the country. The Rivlas.com recruiting analysts had a tough time breaking down the best of the best across all camps. Here is a look at the top 10 linebackers from the events.

quote:

3. Malik Jefferson

Jefferson more than lived up to the expectations at RCS Dallas as he showed off a quick footwork and quickness in transition. The camp setting can be tough on linebackers, but Jefferson showed tremendous cover ability. On the recruiting front, there have been rumors of leaders, but Jefferson is keeping his options open. Texas A&M and Texas have been hot names.

The top 2 guys are from the Class of 2016 with the #1 ranked player being from Louisiana.

Adrian Hubbard left Alabama early to chase his NFL dream, but the path is a little different than he initially envisioned.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, he believes that a heart condition led to his fall in the draft. But the 6'6", 257-pound outside linebacker found a pretty sweet landing spot with the Green Bay Packers.

He was a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide, racking up 83 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 10 sacks during his time in T-Town. He's quick off the edge, solid against the run and a big hitter, which will play well in Green Bay.

He's using the draft snub as motivation.

“31 teams going to get it by any means

— Adrian Hubbard (@__unchained42) May 11, 2014 ”
Whether it's with Green Bay or somewhere else, Hubbard has the physical traits that will make him attractive, and he will stick around in the NFL for a while.
