How do we flip the D at the second half?

Jeudy and Najee added some dollars to their NFL payday.

They got away from the run which was surprising; and Shea overthrew his receivers on bombs

Now Georgia and Tennessee need to lose and it will be a great bowl season.

Maybe Saban wanted to let the senior play during his last game.
I was wondering if this was the case.

He had a decent game
More than decent. He pinned them deep a couple of times with legit precision kicks instead of luck and didn't shank anything. Can't help but wonder where that confidence was earlier in his career.

There was enough Bernier in 2018 to get a gauge on him, solid but not spectacular. Bama thought they could do better to sit him for 2019.
DeLong didn't improve, Reichard hurt himself, and Perine needs work technically. Perine has a huge leg, but he had some mistakes and can get better on touch.
Being his last game probably played a part too, but not having to "worry" about Bernier back there was probably just as important...

I think DeLong and Bulovas can graduate before fall of 2020. If so, imo we should cut them loose and roll with Perine, Reichard (can punt too) and the walkon kicker we have as a backup. That'd open up two much-needed 85-limit spots.

He looked very accurate on "shorter" punts, and did kick the ball across the 50 when we were on the end zone.

Hindsight, Bernier definitely should have played more.
Everyone is still chasing that high of having a weapon like JK Scott at punter that Bernier's consistency was undervalued.

Bernier looked like he took steroids
He never kicked the ball with that much power last year. All his punts struggled to get to 40 yards and/or 20 feet in the air.

participation chart shows only 15 subs played in the game. Lowest I can recall ever

We have numerous subs starting. Cuts down on the # of subs subbing.

I thought this was dumb they got away from the run.

I'm glad they did!! ROLL TIDE BOYS!! I had fun this season with y'all.. A lot of bitching (Me especially) but damn it was a great ending. Especially running up the score.

we went to a nickle package for most of the second half per NS. This may have played in their decision to do something different on play calling. Gave us more experience on the field per NS
