I don’t think there’s any way the court hears it before the end of the season.

I wish they'd point out how Baker-Mazara and Grant-Foster getting like an 8th year of eligibility to play for a 5th different school, all these QBs like Pavia, Chambliss, Aguilar, etc. trying to get indefinite eligibility because college pays better than the CFL, and guys who have been playing pro ball in Europe for 6 years being granted eligibility is all totally cool, but Bediako trying to play for Alabama, the only school he has ever played for and is actively trying to earn a degree from, again is where we're drawing the line? It's a fricking farce. Either all of it is OK (it isn't) or none of it is (none of it is).

I agree. I’m tired of the ncaa but I’m also tired of our administration for seemingly being the only ones too soft and/or incompetent to work the system. Ole Miss was basically like “naw Chambliss is playing. Watch this”. I think Sankey and the NCAA have been unfair toward us…but at a certain point you have to big boy them.

Sankey talks shite about us: crickets.

Pearl talks shite: Byrne reads a Bible passage very mildly alluding to Pearl’s cheating. If you can’t dunk on Bruce Pearl’s fat arse in that moment then when will you ever stand up for your teams/athletes?

And I say that as someone who really liked Byrne as of a few months ago. I’ve met him a few times. He’s always been a super nice guy. And maybe there in lies the problem. I’m not entirely sure he has it in him to muck it up when you have to.

Likely not. I think he’s also seeking another TRO or expedited process.

The way our “university statement” reads sounds like we’re erring on the side of not playing him though

It was a pretty sackless statement. I’m pretty disappointed.

I think Sherrell has made tremendous progress with improving his skill set since last year. He is a better all-around player than Bediako, but is still learning how to use his hands on defense without fouling. The appeal to the AL Supreme Court is a "Hail Mary" half-court shot to possibly provide quality depth and I hope it is successful.

I'm sick of seeing teams like TN bring in European pros or semi-pros whose primary task is to mug our guys in the paint. We need an inside physical presence that intimidates the competition and Bediako is the closest person Bama has to being an enforcer.

If Sherrell would return next year, and Chuck win his appeal, would he be eligible next year?
If not, then we should go overseas and find a change up type player to spell Sherrell. Someone who is capable of doing to Purdue’s goon what they have been doing to us.

I think part of Charles’ argument is that he’s still within his eligibility window(which would end this year).

He enrolled and although he left for the G league(that other players have played in and are eligible) he is still within his original window of eligibility.

The ncaa is arbitrarily punishing him for enrolling, leaving, and coming back. If he’d never enrolled at Alabama and gone straight to G League or Europe he’d have 4/5 years of eligibility remaining and could play no problem. Yes that’s as retarded as it sounds.

That being said, I hope he sues them for additional years or lost wages because of how this year played out. I hope he sues them for mental duress. Tell Alexander Shunnarah that Charlie Baker hit him with a car. Whatever forces them to burn it down or fix it.

The University continues to support Charles as he works toward completing his degree."

This don’t sound nearly as supportive as the previous statement about Chuck did.

I honestly don’t blame them. The ESPN propaganda machine (Dicky V literally reading the same speech off a card every half) painted it like it was Alabama vs the NCAA. It’s always been Bediako vs the NCAA. Bama may benefit from his presence, but it was always Bediako in the court room.

He should also sue the SEC commissioner (I want use the book reading worm’s name). He selectively made an official statement against a member institution’s student athlete. He did not make any statements like that against anyone else. So let him have some too!

Pruet was never going to do it. He really sucks. I was hoping the injunction would go to a different judge.

Those of you who live in Tuscaloosa, please vote this a-hole out as soon as you can.

Seems like a waste of time. The judge who denied him was never going to grant him an injunction while he appealed, and the Supreme Court will never hear this before the end of the season.

I dont know why Pruet hates UA athletes, but he obviously does. Hes also made it obvious he doesnt respect his fellow judge.

Pruett should lose his job over his egregious mishandling of the Miles case. This deal with Bediako is really nothing compared to him acting as a second prosecutor in a murder trial.

Nobody on this board would’ve objected to a judge telling a former Auburn player to get a real job

It’s not the right call because it’s not in line with what dozens of other players/programs have been allowed to do(including Auburn).

Granting someone eligibility is such an inconsequential thing in the grand scheme of things and white knighting for the ncaa is such a power trip fascist judge type thing for him to do. “Oh let me be the last bastion of amatuer athleticism and prevent this 22 year old from playing basketball while nine 27 year old motherfrickers from Slovenia take Illinois to the final four.

Being made to be the only one playing by the spirit of the law doesn’t make us special. It makes us fools.

I get the feeling this is just one step in something that will come together quickly to ask ALSC for emergency relief citing the judge's lack of TRO until ALSC hears the case.
