You can't financially just take all the highest rated recruits anymore. You also have to fill with guys that might be developmental. Maybe those guys surprise you or get thrust into roles and perform well. Agreed. I'll also say that "late bloomer" targets become more important, too. The OT (Doughty) that we just got was one of those that was initially missed and didn't go to camps. It also appears that the DL we're after (Franklin Whitley), the TE we recently offered (that played basketball-only until this year), and the two WRs we're after sort of fit this. The WRs are 4* guys, but they both look much better than their rankings to me. Evaluations/eyes for talent become important when trying to get "deals" these days.
