On the one hand, this greatly raises our ceiling as a team. On the other hand, allowing a guy to come back to college after going through the draft process, signing a pro contract, and playing professionally for a couple of years is fricking ridiculous.

Also, what happens if we play him and he is retroactively deemed ineligible? Do we vacate all wins he participated in?

This is so fricking stupid. Glad that Oats is playing ball though. Play by the same rules and take advantage of it vs Dabo Swinney’ing it.

I wonder how this plays out as far as locker room dynamics. Will it create any tension or resentment?

Allowing any former professional athlete to play college athletics was always ridiculous. But now that the NCAA opened that door, they have very little legal standing to prohibit some pros but not others.

Imagine worrying about this in the year 2026.

If there is a college athletics program primed to be the last one to ever get fricked by a dying NCAA, it's Alabama basketball. You know it, I know it, and the American people know it.

I don't like this either, but we can thank Baylor for starting this. We can also thank Tennessee for giving the NCAA the middle finger with the whole Nico paying to play thing.

Hearing is set for 1/27. Do we play him against Tennessee Saturday or wait until after then?

Would we be at risk in terms of the NCAA? Seems to be the $64 question.

I personally hate this situation, but I am getting a kick out of the crying and gnashing of teeth on the Rant because of it.

If we ride a 23 year old Bediako bodying college kids to a title the meltdown will be a sight to behold. I'll give you that.
