Hey guys, totally off topic but i'm hoping some of you guys can help me out. As some of you know i'm moving to Birmingham in 10 days. I'm excited, but I still don't have a place to stay yet. I've narrowed it down to a few places, but i'm still very open to suggestion. My job will be in Center Point, but i'm open to anything from Downtown to Trussville. Didn't want to get too far south like the Hoover area because I don't really want to drive that far to work. Anyway, i'm looking at Eagle View and Terrace Apartments right now. Anyone heard anything about these or have experience. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

There was also this dope spot in Trussville called Springs at Trussville but they're sold out of Studios and that's all I really need for now

Also looking at a few of the properties by Highlands. Hermosa, Clairmont, etc.

Bucc is also checking on me a place. I'm guessing I need to decide on a place by Monday and be ready to move in Thursday-ish

Age? Are you single? I'd look at the highlands area.

But yeah, mostly i'll be off by myself. Studio or 1 BR would be fine.

Terrace Appt is getting good reviews on sites online I see. The highlands most of them are sold out that i'm looking at except for the pricier ones.

Highlands is full of single young professionals. If he is tied down I would look on 280.

Northside is also jumping these days, Titusville is also hopping too.

j/k, used to live in titusville and won't go back it was so bad.

Birmingham is a great place to live for the most part, moving away to Dothan made me realize that.

Not if he is working in Center Point. Does loft district downtown interest you OP?

Yeah, I'd look in the Highland Park/Forest Park area. I lived there for 3 or 4 years and LOVED it. Got married and had kids and moved out 280 and it's so boring out in the burbs.

Trussville is pretty convenient to Centerpoint if you don't find anything in the Highland Park area. Just another boring suburb though.

Ok, I think I've settled on the place I want to stay. There's a cool little studio apt in the Highlands called The Phares that i'm seriously considering. Only problem is i'm going to have to hotel it up for probably a week and a half until they're ready for me to move in. It's between The Phares($600 gas for water, sewer included. Highlands), Royal Orleans($510, water and sewer included. Fultondale). With Eagle View, Terrace Apartments, Highland Towers, and Forest Manor all still under consideration. If anyone has thoughts or advice on these please impart them upon me as I need to make this decision by Monday and this will be my home for a while.

You need to elaborate on what stage you are in life. From what little you've mentioned highland park, crestwood, forest park sound perfect.

I'm a 27 year old male. I'm a father of a 4 year old daughter, but i'll be living alone aside from her visiting every other weekend or so(I may also just go back to Mississippi to visit. Probably a combination). I enjoy going out, but i'm not a "go out by myself" kind of guy and I honestly don't know a TON of people in Birmingham. I'm not going to just KILL the scene, but i'll go out. Probably a time or two a week. I should be financially comfortable(i'm hoping) but i'm also sending a lot of that money home to my kid.

In short, i'm 27. This will actually be the first time in my life that I will be living alone. I'm looking to toe the line between getting out there and having a good time but i'm also going to be grinding and providing a better lifestyle for my kid, who I hope to have living with me next year(when i'll do the house thing). So this is just a one year, blow out cool bachelor pad type deal.

Could not recommend these to anyone in good conscience. This is coming from someone who lived in them recently.
