Listen guys, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here but I'm as big a bball fan as I am a football fan and I'm just not willing to give up on Grant quite yet.

I remember the days of the "land of wimps", when James "Hollywood" Robinson was running the show. And the Hobbs days when he had McDyess and co. Which imo was the best team we've had in my 33+ years. Hardly any of those teams played defense, Grants teams do. And we've improved every year under him thus far.

I'm still in favor of Grant, but he has to get an assistant to run the offense.

The frustrating thing about the offense is that there are flashes where you can see what these players are capable of. Like early in the 2nd half tonight. We had a sequence where Lacey hit Levi on the alley-oop and about 20 seconds later Releford had a no-look kick out to Lacey for 3 in delayed transition. It shows how good these players can be if CAG would loosen the grip a little on them and let them play a more up-tempo, creative style. I'm probably oversimplifying though.

I admire all of your optimism but the offense just isn't that simple of a fix. We are very good in transition because our guards are all good skilled players. Transition baskets don't grow on trees though. Our ineptitude in halfcourt sets cause all those lulls. We also struggle to get transition baskets without the press because you need a skilled big who can rebound and quickly make an outlet pass down court. Our bigs aren't skilled and can't rebound for shite. We need better bigs and better halfcourt sets. The former can be corrected with recruiting. The latter will require coaching changes. The offensive coordinator position doesn't exist in basketball. The best we can hope for is replacing Pujol with someone who can teach our bigs at least a few things.

They don't have a name for the position, but they actually do exist. It is a huge pride-swallow, and I don't think there is much of a chance for someone like Grant to go through with it, but I'll keep on hoping for it to happen.

The best and most realistic option I think we can hope for on offense is Justin Coleman. A great distributor makes any offense look good and we don't even have the resemblance of a distributor right now.

Cant believe some of u guys want him gone. Grant does hae a problem though and its that slow arse offense. Dont know why we dont run the floor more. He does make decisions that frustrate me though. Like if releford is soo hurt why not let Retin get some PT today when AnM has two PGs playing and Lacey has to try and keep up with one and releford is hobbled and cant keep up with the other. Also I know Steele made a big shot at the end but he shouldnt had been in over Cooper. Steele gave up two baskets at the end and passed up on a open shot that wouldve nailed the game. Another is that i disagree on is the perception that he has not gone out and got a big man thing. Gueye and Jacobs were highly regarded and I think thats on them to produce u see some flashes of Gueyes defense and Jacobs offense they just arent consistent. Kind oflike Pollard. Highly regarded thought he had a two year plan to go to the league but isnt what anybody thought he would be. I think next year will be the year that determines it all. We will have a full roster the only thing I dont get is why we didnt go out and get another wing player this year. My main problem with Grant is that he treating Retin like M. Torrance and this kid can play. He is selling playing fast to kids and we dont do it but we hae the players to do it I just dont get it. Oh yea i said it before we have to get full classes in recruiting. We should never have to play walkons

Lacey was pretty upset with him on the court for not taking that shot.

I'm frustrated but don't want Grant gone.

Of course, a win on Tues night and we are all alone in 3rd place and that'd be a .500 record over the last 8 against UK. Not many could claim that I don't imagine.

I don't have any faith in the team right now though. They were lucky to win Sat.
