I try not to fall into the basketball trap but it happens every year.

I am excited for basketball. I was ready to get some new players. The previous players just couldn't get over the hump. The new players have brought a new dimension to the team that maybe can take it to the next level.

The rows of empty Tide Pride seats will still be there

The UH game is a hot ticket in Houston.

SRO tickets are going for $100+.

Its frowned upon.. I tried a few years back to start more threads about our basketball team. I was told repeatedly to stick to the season long thread.

So I post there occasionally.. I just don't enjoy having to guess how many pages to go back to get to the start of the game thread.

I was surprised to see no threads on us beating the #1 team. And when someone did start a thread he was attacked by the 'down-voting troll squad' who accuses everyone of being a troll if they disagree with them....I was about to start a thread when the OP did it. And now few people are participating because apparently we can only have one BB thread all season? What the..... This board is unusual.

Feel free to start a game thread for any of our games. I imagine most basketball regulars will stick to the big thread but any basketball discussion is a good thing.

The stickied-thread debate can become a hot topic here, but I for one enjoy it and appreciate all of the work you do, Chadaristic.

It's probably been a while since I said it, but perusing the last few pages of that thread every morning can be one of the highlights of my day.

If people want change, I think the logical move is for them to participate regularly in there, and if traffic increases significantly it might signal that we could support more individual topics, and/or a game thread — I'm guessing it won't consistently though.

Just for my two cents, it's great like it is, and I really do appreciate the time and effort from those who post frequently there.

On the small games the game threads would be very short. Very few posts regularly to the season long thread

The non-televised games tend to only have a handful of people who are dedicated enough to stream it. Then for the games like the last few nights I didn't even want to participate because of how many random FOGs were in there shitting all over everything and being toxic, negative dipshits who don't even care about basketball but were watching because it was UNC. I'm looking forward to settling into the happy medium of late Wednesday or Thursday tips against South Carolina, Vandy, or Ole Miss on ESPNU that get more than a handful of people watching and discussing, but the FOGs don't care about.

I’ve lived in North Carolina pretty much my entire life. There was no sweeter feeling than taking down UNC as the #1 team. All I was told leading up was bama had no chance, football school etc. don’t think I’ve ever trash talked as much as I did after that game
