Bama plays b'ball 120+ years. Oats comes in, takes them to final four. Then he jumps.

I cannot express adequately how unacceptable that would be on so many levels.

The administration should be all over this potential scenario ... As much so as they have been with "Saban to Texas" or "Saban to the NFL" threats.

This can't be some wait and see type deal like some seem to feel is warranted.

A lot of fan bases already want Oats.

Keep him on a short leash Byrne. Be his best friend. KNOW what he is thinking.

Why don’t we finish winning the SEC before we claim imaginary final fours and him being the envy of every program

There are a lot of very big assumptions in this post. Why don't you just enjoy watching a good team play?

We're dealing with youngsters here. He needs to finish the year with at least a Sweet Sixteen trip before anyone even pays attention. Then he'll have to recruit like hell and start the '22 season like somebody with their arse on fire before the administration will make any serious moves.

Are you the same guy that said Mac should transfer to make room for BY?

Yeah, I think that's you.

There are numerous reasons why you are correct. The 1st and foremost reason is that football is a dying sport and will eventually be dropped by universities. It is imperative that Alabama strive for success at the highest level in other sports lest they end up being the Blockbuster or Kodak of the athletic world. They have an excellent opportunity to start now by locking up Oats.

Jump the gun much? Since when do we sound like a bunch of uneducated sports (LSU) fans?

Let's complete a Feb before we go counting eggs as chickens.

That said, at 13-3 and 11 games left, what is the reg season magic #(s) to secure a Tourney slot, and does that # vary based on who Bama beats.

I think Bama is a lock with 5 more wins. Maybe as low as 4 if those 4 wins are over Mizzou. ARKY, OU and LSU. The latter would be a 17-10 season with a good deal of Q1/Q2 wins, and Bama could sneak in similar to 2006 (also a 17 win team for the Tourney)
