The precedent they will set of Ohio state gets in over is will be insane. Literally blowout losses won’t mean shite going forward in the grand scheme of things.

It will be a coin flip and we all need to be prepared to be left out. And also be prepared to celebrate, too. Roll damn Tide

better wins against PSU and Mich. State.

Well as long as we can throw away horrendous losses just cuz I’d say that LSU and Penn State are essentially equals

Are they really shitting on our LSU win because LSU lost to a (9-2) Troy?!?!
Those asswhipes were embarrased by a team that lost to a 6-6 Purdue.

Pur-fricking-due.

I've told you many times. They are setting this up for OSU to jump us.

Hence why they put a two loss Auburn over a one loss Oklahoma. Shows precedent.

Only way OSU doesn't jump us is if they struggle and win a close one vs Wisconsin, then Auburn beats down UGA again. Our Auburn loss looks that much better, while OSU winning but not impressively keeps their value from being appreciated too much

I disagree. I don't think AU being at #2 has anything to do with OSU in any way.

I think Wisconsin beats OSU. Wisconsin has a QB that can exploit their secondary. If OSU wins, they'll 100% jump us. We really need TCU to win to get in.

What is this '100 percent' based on? IMO, it will be hard for the committee to ignore the Iowa blowout. I'd imagine that most of them feel that they'd be sending OSU into a for-sure slaughter if they gave them a playoff spot. It might be different if the Iowa blowout took place in the first few weeks, but it occurred less than a month ago.

I've explained my belief, care to explain why there is no connection?

They have just showed the world they have no problem putting a two-loss team over a one-loss team if their body of work is better. An impressive OSU victory leaves us outside.

Oklahoma's body of work isn't even bad like ours is.

I think Auburn's situation is extenuating because of the two wins in a row vs #1 teams, and their losses are acceptable enough for them to justify it. The committee saw that as being more impressive than OU's wins+their awful loss, IMO. I don't think that it sets any precedent because the two situations are completely different.

If there is any kind of precedent that was set, it was last year with them putting a 1 loss non conference champ OSU in over a 2 loss PSU conference champ. They couldn't justify putting PSU in there because of their bad losses, even when they owned the head to head with OSU that year.

And I don't think that our body of work is bad. Its not great obviously, but it could much worse than 3 wins over top 25 teams, and 1 loss on the road to #2.

I think this is good news for us, but I think everybody expected us to be at 5. The big thing is that Auburn is at #2 and Fresno State is at #25.

I think the way this is set up, it would be better for us if Auburn wins. If so, Alabama's only loss will be to the #2 (#1 if Clemson loses) team in the country. If Ohio State wins, there is no way in Hell that they could justify letting Ohio State in over us with 2 losses and a 31 point loss to Iowa.

Regardless I believe we'll have the upperhand if it comes down to Ohio State and Alabama, but if Auburn wins that would seal it.

Before we go nuts though, Alabama still needs one of Wisconsin or Oklahoma to lose. I'd put the odds of that happening at 60-40. Far from a guarantee.

What would be ideal is for OSU and Wisconsin to both play a sloppy, boring game with OSU winning by a narrow margin. Don't know that we'll be that fortunate but it would be better than OSU blowing their doors off and looking great.

Of course if TCU could just pull off a minor miracle then we're golden.

TCU held Okie scoreless for 2 quarters, that is a tough bill. They just had issues scoring when they usually don't. I think TCU actually has a shot.

I'm just waiting for them to put Auburn at 2, and us at 3. Iron Bowl rematch, but make us play it in California.

If that happens, I will not be able to watch that game with anyone. Just me and my thoughts.

The chances that OSU beats Wisconsin at a neutral site are very, very high.

I don't see how they put us against Auburn in the first round unless its intentional.

Check this out: Playoff simulator

According to the simulator, if UGA, Wisc, TCU and Stanford all win, then UGA, Wisc and the ACC champ are locks and Bama's odds of getting in are much higher than any other team. Bama would very likely be in at #4.

Not real likely for all of that to happen. But it would be cool if it did. AU, OU, TCU, OSU & PAC12 fans would all be melting. And Bama would may have a decent shot of winning the Natty -- IF we get our act together.
