The Nick Saban Show: New Mexico State

(editor’s note: UA never posted The Nick Saban Show for LSU - not that there were many highlights outside of the W)

Saban today:
quote:

On if offensive approach changes down another running back…

“I don’t think you can change a lot. We’ve worked a couple other guys there for over a month now. Those guys are functional at the position. We’ll probably look for somebody else on our team that maybe we could develop into being a functional player from an emergency standpoint if we need them. But I don’t really think that we can change right now. We certainly have to have a plan if we have any more issues at that position.”

I don't know how you resist playing Milroe at RB.

I agree and would be tempted to play him in the those dual RB sets that jase/Brian run with 21 swinging out in the flats. That combined with maybe some of those double back/reveres motions to the flats that Slade runs.Only time will tell if he's a Cam,Lamar,or Jalen Hurts type qb for Bama.I cant blame the kid for wanting to be a QB when you consider the money QB's are getting for just being first round bust let alone good ones.
But for these last 3-5 games we really could use him the way Percey Harvin was packaged in the Fla offenses back in the day.But he has not been working at the position long enough ,so I just expect some swing passes, motion to slot for some wr screens. We have to keep in mind that defensively if you solo him at rb on pass plays they will shoot lb'ers and make him blitz pick up.That why I think the dual set rb play swinging him out in the flats or the one were Brian is the check down isolated out wide is better. Its really a great chance for Sanders to step up and finally get some serious snaps.

I just watched Old Miss and Am for the second time. It caused me to wonder how did Bama lose to AM and how did they beat Old Miss
