Saban said OL Kendall Randolph sprained his ankle today and was unable to finish the scrimmage.
Do we know who came in for him?

Alabama held its first of two preseason scrimmages yesterday at Bryant-Denny Stadium, but its offensive line was missing a few key pieces by the conclusion of the roughly 160-play practice.
Left tackle Evan Neal and center Chris Owens didn’t take part in the scrimmage and were on stationary bikes during warmups, sources told BamaOnLine. That led to Kendall Randolph, who had been manning the right tackle position, moving to left tackle with the ones and freshman JC Latham stepping in at right tackle. Darrian Dalcourt also joined the first unit at center.
However, head coach Nick Saban revealed Randolph suffered a setback in the scrimmage, and so players like Amari Kight and Damieon George went on to receive first-team reps. Up to that point, Randolph, a redshirt senior, had been a consistent contributor with the ones.
“Kendall’s done a really good job,” Saban said. “He’s a jack of all trades. He can play every position – probably can’t play center, but guard, tackle. He’s played tight end for us before. He’s worked at all those positions in camp. He can play right tackle, he can play left tackle. So he’s got a lot of maturity about him. He’s a very experienced, knowledgeable player. He sprained his ankle today, so he didn’t get to finish the scrimmage and we hope it’s not anything significant.
“But he’s really a key to the development of this offensive line because of his experience.” . . . (more)

The Truth… The defense was expected to dominate and then Neal and Owens sat out with sore knee. Then Randolph went down with sore ankle. It was very hot……Will Anderson, Chris Allen and Harris were dominating.
Branch, Wheaton,Hellams also got minor injuries and came out.
The day started out one offense against two defense then two offense against 1 defense. Then they did 8 third and long plays 1 defense against 1 offense and so on. They also put ball at 20 and did 2 minute drill.
Some appox stats..Bryce was 12 for 29 for 150 yards. He had 3 TD and 1 INT. Paul was 14-28 for 190 yards with 1 TD and No INT. Milroe and Barker Neither had TD, Milroe had 1 INT by Robinson.
Trey Saunders had a great day rushing and caught a TD pass. Brian Robinson ran really hard!! Latu had nice TD catch from 15 yard line. Jones-Bell caught 55 yard TD pass. Brooks had some good catches. Baker made some plays. Williams made a few catches. Williams was open a few times deep.
Bryce had 2 chances in 2 minute and scored once capped off with 20 yard pass to Trey S. Twos led by Tyson had one chance in 2 minute and drove to 2 yard line and had fumble with hit of the day by Story on a blitz. Players said he blindsided RB.
Defense dominated third down plays. 1 defense stopped 1 offense on all 8 attempts. 2 offense was 3-8.
With Neal, Owens and Randolph out. They moved OL a lot. Dalcourt was first team center. Seth was second team center. Tackles were Latham, Kight, George, T Brockermeyer. Guards were Cohen, Ekiyor, Brown, Quick, Bowles.
DL dominated with some great tackles by Eboigbe, Mathis, and Dale.
Some new faces in secondary played well. Story had great day. Koolaid played good. Khyree Jackson played well. Jackson will take your head off. Battle, Jobe and Armour-Davis played well. Branch played good until hurt.
The truth… Defense dominated but offense had some good plays and finished strong in 2 minute drill.

That Baker catch looked like a TD. If so, that score hasn’t been reported.

It appears to me on Baker's catch, the ball was just a little bit short of the goal line, when he stepped out of bounds. Kool-Aid was in good position, but failed to see the throw/ball in order to break up the play. Nice throw by Bryce!

Jah Marien Latham also delivered quite a hit on Brian Robinson. Latham will be in the rotation this year.

Trey has had a redshirt or medical redshirt, and a covid shirt so... anyone know how many more years he has of eligibility?
if he's totally healthy he probably has NFL potential, so how many years he has left may be a moot point.

4 years of eligibility less 0 years used = 4 years.

my point was..."if he's totally healthy"...he probably won't be at Alabama even 3 more years, let alone 4.
If I'm not mistaken a guy can go pro 3 years after he graduates high school.

Yea, and with his injury luck, I wouldn't blame him one bit to jump to the league at the first chance he gets.

yep. Neither would I. edit- but that said, Najee Harris made a smart decision to return for another season. It would be tough to have to decide.
I think he's going to be an exceptional rb

I hope that Trey has a great season. To this point, he hasn't proven anything on the collegiate level because of injuries. His talent is undeniable but it's now or never for him. Will be interesting to see what he does if he balls out this year.
Posted on 8/15/21 at 8:58 pm to bamatide07
Why do you say "it's now or never" for Trey Sanders? He has 4 years of remaining eligibility. Trey might use all of it, like Najee and BRob have. Sometimes patience is needed and rewarded well. But I do expect him to excel this season. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" -- via a persevering response to the adversity. I've been praying and pulling for him!

Yea, I’m rooting for Trey. I don’t believe he has a “now or never” season ahead of him. It’s all “now” at this point. The young guy has has bad luck. Let’s wish him the best this season and hope that he makes it in the pros. He’s just been snakebit so far, hopefully, it won’t last forever. He’s proven that you don’t want a “now or never” label on a guy with tons of heart.
