How impressive was Malachi Moore?

His situation reminds me of the Amari Cooper-Chris Black one.

We heard all camp how Brian Branch looked outstanding, yet Malachi is the one making plays in the actual games.

On kickoffs why do we consistently kick it to @ the five yard line? I've seen Chase Allen kick it well into the end zone. Is he just inconsistent or is he directed to do that?

To pin back the opponents offense, with a sky high kick that is not fair caught at the 5, our kick off team has a chance to pin them back inside the 20

Iirc, last season Saban said kicking it just short of the goal line is done on purpose, aiming to pin them deeper than the 25 yard line they get from a touchback.

OK BamaFan107 thanks for your reply. You're saying he is directed to do it. I would guess the increased hang time would give our cover team more time to get down there in case the returner decides to run it out or even muffs the catch.

Malachi Moore is this years DJ Dale.
*Starter from day 1
*Alabama kid
*Low ranking by Bama standards
*Beat out a higher ranked player in his class at his position (Shopsher/Branch)
*Beat out veterans ahead of them

Candidates for next year:
*Tim Keenan
*Anquin Barnes
*Ian Jackson

Who's your pick?

Yea showing 90 and 70% percent rain here now. If it’s just rain I assume everything will go as planned

Oxford, MS is close to Memphis. If it follows that projected path (map above), it'll be much weaker and located E-NE of Chattanooga by 5 pm CT on Sat. If that's the actual situation, then Oxford, MS probably won't be getting much, if any, weather impact from it during the game.

Ole Miss has a FieldTurf field as well. So even if they do get a lot of rain, the field should be fine (assuming it drains properly).

EDIT: Nvm, seems like they might have gone back to grass: LINK
