Cell provider

Not just cell. They bought Birmingham based Teklinks a couple of years ago and do business networks.

They also partner with Alabama Power and are implementing gigabit internet in Birmingham.

I can see how recruits would like it, but I gotta say, it's almost a little too garish for me.

We haven't seen the seating improvements yet, and it's probably amazing, but based on what they've shown so far, I think I would've really preferred them to demolish and rebuild Coleman before doing yet another $100+ million renovation on BDS.

Wasn’t that 1969? It has the 100 year logo on it for the 100th anniversary of college football that season.

I suppose you're right that the photo was taken in 1969, but BDS was still like that a few years later. Iirc, capacity was about 60k.

It was still that sad little bowl until the 1988 season when capacity shot up (lol) to 70k. The first upper deck was still pretty new when I started there.

Alabama has won the last eight meetings and 19 straight home openers, moving to 14-0 under Saban. The coach is also 20-0 against former assistants turned head coaches like Fisher. … Saban’s 201 wins matches Georgia’s Vince Dooley for third all-time in conference history behind Steve Spurrier (206) and Bear Bryant (292).

Not bad for Saban. Let’s at least get 250.

How impressive was Malachi Moore? Kid was rated as a low 4-star. I remember his mom recruiting other mothers for the Tide.

I know she is so proud.

Also, last week I said this was Mac Jones team and got a couple downvotes.

Lol I know this week those who weren't with that are with it now.

Up until the late-80s it could be argued that Bryant-Denny Stadium was the worst stadium in major college football. The amenities were trash, the field itself was trash, everything about it was second class. I think I remember a former player saying that being tackled on that turf was akin to falling on concrete. It truly was an embarrassment but we played the vast majority of our games at Legion Field back during that time.
