My farther loved Namath but Pat Trammell was the goat to him. He never said why but there was no debating him about it.
Lennie Patrick to him was the best RB he ever seen at Bama. He was certain he could win the Heisman.

a Bryant quote: "If they stay on the field, Lee Roy will get them". Didnt he have something like 33 tackles in a bowl game vs Arky?

Between Trammell Lee Roy and a few others, the leadership on the 61 team was freaking crazy. I dont think we would have gone through some of the crap that we went through after Bryant retired if Pat Trammell had not died of cancer at such an early age.

Sounds to me like Bama players are getting ready to report next week based on some chatter I've seen.

Derrick Henry 80 yard TD run against Arkansas
I think about this run a lot and how I really didn't know what I was seeing at the time. I knew it was special but with how well the team was doing and how badly Bama was beating Arkansas I didn't realize HOW special it was. Just your average 240 pound freshman runningback cutting it back on the counter and going 80 yards out running the D. Nothing to see here. Man this dude is special.

He's the fastest 250lb dude I've ever seen in person. He was also the most durable. Tuas entire career I held my breath every snap; Henry on the other hand would smash into defensive players over and over until they wanted to quit, and all Henry did was be the first up out of the pile and get a little stronger and faster the next carry.
Henry is without a doubt the best RB a championship team could hope for. Capable of taking over a game vs the best of competition, wearing down a defense, was one touch away from endzone from anywhere on the field, and could take the air out the ball with an 8 minute drive that defenses simply couldn't stop in the 4th.
Henry will FOREVER be listed on any dreamteam roster at RB for Bama. Total freak of nature.
So much fun to watch Henry play football. A real gladiator at heart.
