The real solution is to allow a market in players, that way everything is transparent and upfront. That's one regard America is very different from rest of the world when it comes to sports.

What country is allowing payment to their college/high school athletes to play sports for their school?

If players want to get compensated with cash they can play in the G-League or go overseas to play professionally. If they want to play it safe and get an education with an incredible amount of amenities throughout their stint in college, they can go the college route.

Also allowing pay-for-play won’t do anything about the cheating. There will have to be some sort of salary cap in that scenario, and the new form of cheating will be stuff happening off of the books. The only way to fix this is for the NCAA to do something about it instead of looking the other way or taking their sweet arse time.

I will say it is a joke that Alabama is one of the schools mentioned here. We had a low-level assistant who collected money from Dawkins with zero evidence to the money being payed out. He was fired for it. That shite is as commonplace as a speeding ticket. The outrage should be with programs like LSU and Arizona, who were unquestionably corrupt starting with the HC.

If a player wants to get paid, they will go to the highest bidder. G-League is a new option.

Confirming @JonRothstein report that Pat Chambers is stepping down as Penn State hoops coach, and also confirming @DaveJonesSports report that this follows an internal investigation into the coach. Brutal news for program, which would have finally made NCAA Tournament this year.

IIRC a former player accused him of being a little bit racist.

Man, a good seed in the SEC Tourney would be so nice for once.

Four of the top six scorers from Nate Oats' first team at Alabama are back -- most notably Jaden Shackelford and John Petty, a pair of starters who combined to average 29.5 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game for a team that was better than its 16-15 record suggested. Will the Crimson Tide miss Kira Lewis? Of course. He was a super-productive two-year point guard who now projects as a lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and there's no great way to replace somebody like him. But former five-star point guard Jahvon Quinerly is eligible after sitting out last season following a transfer from Villanova . So Alabama will once again have talent in the backcourt. And Jordan Bruner, a grad-transfer from Yale, will serve as a nice frontcourt addition. He averaged 10.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in the Ivy League last season.

@AlabamaMBB give me a different type of vibe for real ! The support that I have been getting from the whole staff, coaches,teammates...is unreal. We’re real family, I’m so happy I’ve made that decision, it isn’t one thing that I regret #RollTide

I just don’t understand this. If you’re sitting with family or friends that you came with and you’re 6 feet apart and seated away from the next person, then why do we have to keep a mask on? Of course when we get out of our seat to go to concessions, restrooms, or to leave then we’d need to wear one but when we’re not close to someone else I see no reason for it
