Are we holding Nike back trying to see what Petty's decision will be?

Oklahoma State just got hammered by the NCAA for their involvement in the FBI sting.

So, good chance their #1 recruit will bolt?

Thinking this doesnt bode well for a couple of other programs.

this coach was doing the same thing as Chuck Person. Unethical conduct charge He also did it at So Carolina

And yea, what Will Wade did was worse--IMO.

Also, something has to be going on at Memphis. That coach didnt just decide to give up a high paying job to be with the family.

Mike Miller made close to $100 million dollars in his playing career. Something may be going on at Memphis, but he didn’t need that job for the paycheck.

Random thought...during one college game day visit pretty early in Anthony Grant’s tenure we had Angelo Chol, Rodney Hood, and Kedren Johnson all in town. If we land those 3 guys, do you think that ultimately changes the outcome of Grant’s tenure here at Bama? I do realize we also signed Randolph, Cooper, and Lacey in that class.

Do not forget for one second that our assistant AD was Chuck’s partner.

We have some exposure here too.

I don’t think it changes. I do think if you look at some of his near misses from other classes like like Willie Cauley, Cat Barber, Gavin Ware, Troy Williams, Chris Walker, Jarrell Martin, JaJuan Johnson, Tim Quarterman, etc. I have always said Grant had the worst luck in recruiting you could ever imagine. Especially in that 2013 class. That class went from looking like one of our best ever to Jimmie Taylor and trash.

Pat Forde says Alabama basketball is "on the NOA clock"

No one seems to be worried about this, but I can't help but think we will see sanctions.

Nobody associated with that is still here. It would be fricked up if they punish a new staff

I take everything Pat Forde says with a grain of salt. He's been calling for Auburn to be hit for years.

Honestly what they did to Oklahoma State is pretty fricked up considering they quickly fired Evans, cooperated, and didn't gain any sort of competitive advantage from his actions. You know, pretty much the exact same situation we are in. The only people who actually benefitted from the whole thing were the assistant coaches taking the bribes. The programs who really need to get nuked from orbit are the ones like LSU, Kansas, Arizona, and Louisville that were verifiably buying recruits, often with the direct involvement of the head coach.

How do we go from getting Collin to repay the illegal benefit (a freaking dinner check!), cleared by the NCAA after firing the coach, to Alabama basketball is in the crosshairs?

Aside from "this is what I want", what are you basing that on? No one knows what the NCAA is going to do, but anyone who says they aren't at least mildly concerned after what happened to Oklahoma State is being willfully ignorant.

Oklahoma State getting crapped on like they were while LSU’s HC is still out there paying kids is the sports equivalent of someone getting caught with one joint getting life in prison while the system does nothing with the video of the king pin supplying the whole damn city with meth.
