49-13 vs Auburn in Tuscaloosa
26-31 vs Auburn in Auburn

56-11 vs Mississippi St in Tuscaloosa
26-37 vs Mississippi St in Starkville

51-13 vs LSU in Tuscaloosa
26-36 vs LSU in Baton Rouge

156-37 (81%) vs LSU/Auburn/State in Tuscaloosa all-time. That's pretty nuts.

That’s so bad. It’s not like they have tournament teams when they beat us either

While we are at it - the Mark Gottfried home/road splits are even more insane than I remember (and I remember it being the worst thing ever)

- Home Overall: 149-30 (83.2%)
- Away Overall: 27-77 (26.0%)

- Home vs Top 25: 16-12 (57.1%)
- Road vs Top 25: 4-16 (20.0%)

- Home vs Unranked: 133-18 (88.1%)
- Away vs Unranked: 23-61 (27.4%)

Yeah, me and Love the Lord obviously remember some little snot-nosed kid named Donovan and a cocky young coach too big for his britches named Pitino ruining one of the best chances we ever had to make the Final Four. When we blow a chance, it's to some marquis names. Knight and his undefeated National Champion Indiana squad, Pitino and Providence, National Champion UConn under Jim Calhoun. When we've had a chance to be great, we run into some unbelievable teams.

That may have been the first year for the three point shot. We were powerful inside, but the stinkin’ hit everything they threw up that day. They blew out that team.

Nope. That's exactly as I remember it. A road game was damn near a guaranteed loss.

Amen. Gottfried could beat the Lakers in Tuscaloosa and lose to Montevallo on the road. It was a given. Hell, the only reason he didn’t make the Tournament more often was his road record was so damn pathetic.

I know Gottfried gets hate on a lot but sometimes I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for those early years. Consistent tourney team. Two SEC titles, one outright. An Elite Eight. And he got us to number one in the country. After about 2006 it started to go downhill when he started not caring. But those early Gottfried years were tons of fun. We’d be elated if Oats gave us a run like that.

Gotfired underachieved with the talent he had, esp. 2001-2003. I'll never forgive him for ruining Ron Steele. TR Dunn and Tom Ashbury carried Mark.

Yep. Gottfried's entire tenure outside of one tournament run was a master class in doing less with more.
