We got out of the jam, but our pitching has been shite today.
If we can't trot out better arms on Saturdays we are going to be in trouble once conference play starts.

No gonna lie - after that emotional roller coaster of a basketball game I was afraid the day was over after baseball fell behind 6-0. So proud of the guys for battling back to take the lead. As mentioned above, starting pitching has been a bit worrisome this weekend. Hopefully it’s just the guys knocking off some rust. Relief pitching was solid. Keep the home runs coming!
You can’t win them all if you don’t win the first 7!
Baseball Completes Saturday Comeback with 10-6 Win over High Point
The Tide used a seven-run fifth to overcome a six-run deficit before adding three in the eighth to ensure the series-clinching win
Despite falling behind early, Alabama baseball continued to battle on the way to a 10-6 comeback victory over High Point on Saturday. The series-clinching win moved the Tide to 7-0 on the young season.
After a pair of scoreless innings to start, High Point got out front with a six-run third inning. The Crimson Tide was blanked in each of the next two frames before a seven-run fifth gave UA the advantage. Alabama maintained the lead from that point on, adding three more insurance runs in the eighth to secure the win.
Alabama's fifth was highlighted by a go-ahead three-run home run from Dominic Tamez with Drew Williamson adding a three-run homer in the seventh. Tamez finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored while Williamson matched him in RBI as part of a 2-for-5 showing that included two runs. Also highlighting the offensive stat sheet was Tommy Seidl, who reached base safely in all four plate appearances with four walks and two runs scored.
The Tide bullpen was solid once again. The trio of Connor Ball, Zane Probst and Braylon Myers kept the HPU offense at bay, limiting the Panthers to just three hits and three walks over the final 6.0 scoreless frames. Ball (1-0) picked up the win with 2.1 innings of relief while Myers earned his second save in as many chances. The sophomore worked the last 2.1 innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out a pair.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"I'm really proud of our team on so many levels. The term I keep using with this group is 'maturity'. You can be down six, and a lot of times young players try to hit seven-run home runs and do too much, but our guys just kept playing. The bullpen was outstanding – Connor Ball, Zane Probst and Braylon Myers. We talk a lot about winning the middle of the game, and those guys came in to stabilize things for us. They gave our offense a chance and Dominic Tamez had the big home run to give us the lead, and then Drew Williamson had the dagger there in the eighth."

With Alabama’s win today, they are the lone unbeaten team in the Western Division of the SEC, and one of only two unblemished, along with South Carolina, in the entire conference.
Tide looks to go to 8-0 on Sunday, by sweeping High Point.
